Piers was hilarious with Mia. She thinks she is fat (boo hoo). He said I love your gut(s). And that is a big But(t). Good stuff Piers. But most viewers were too dumb to catch what you were doing.
I liked Drew Stevyns’s voice, more the type of stuff I listen to. I thought Padilla was a bit overrated, and Mia way overpraised. I never thought I’d say this, but I agree with the Hoff on the African High Flyers – they were entertaining. I liked this dog act better than the other one, so it’s too bad the judges sent that one through. The percussion group was the other stand-out for me, but then I liked them in the audition round.
Can someone PLEASE tell me what in the world Nick Cannon was wearing? He looked like a hot mess.

This is the first and last time I will watch this show. It is beyond manipulative, even for a reality show. Barbara Padilla should go through, she can at least sing. A career as as opera singer – I don’t know. I am not sure about Ishira. They were good, but there have been a lot of dance acts. Percussion will go through for sure. Mia needs to let go of her dream. She was off key and straining in that song. The dog act was great, but putting that other stupid dog act through may hurt this one. Drew Stevyens was just average for me. There are dozens of guys like him. Erick and Rickie could get through, but they really aren’t that great for kid dancers. There were much better kids on Dancing With the Stars. Forget Erlam. They just aren’t any good. I am amazed at the acts that didn’t get through and then we have to sit through garbage like Coney Island Bob. What a waste. The Lollipop girls are NOT the Pussycat Dolls. Enough said!
I don’t know what to expect after last week’s results. I don’t even know if it matters. This show is pretty pathetic.
Thanks for recap, Henning Fog! You had to watch it as I try to watch it, tho I have been giving in and watching more of the “filler” (including judges’ comments lol) than before. They show a recap show tonight-do they show the full acts? I have never watched it, not being THAT much of a glutton for punishment. But maybe you can see some judges’ comments that way (if you are seriously missing them lol). I do wish I had kept better track of the comments for you – I do know that I was surprised at the number of times Sharon said “I hope America votes for you.” Was it for more than 5 acts?? I am not sure she said it for Mia, so perhaps your wish that they not get pushed through may happen. I know I hope so…She was just not that good. I love the song, but think it needs a much lighter touch. Let’s see, what else you might like to know, Henning Fog… Piers X’d the Afrianc High Flyers, unfairly I thought. Remember, I didn’t see the audition rounds and so, especially for a first time, I thought they were pretty dang good at what they do. I’m not sure what else Piers wants from acts like this – to build up to the ceiling somehow? I agree that after awhile it is like – oh, right, more of that (which I have said about other groups). But they didn’t stink, I don’t think they were disappointing, I don’t think they deserved to be buzzed. That said, I believe both Sharon & the Hoff were not so kind to them either, so what do I know? lol Sharon did say to Coney Chris that she didn’t know how he got here – duh, though perhaps she hadn’t supported that decision in the first place. That said, I would place him as the most embarrassing act to get through so far I think. Painful to watch. All 3 judges liked the Lollipop girls and apparently a bunch of the people here, too! I just don’t see it. Sure, great tease song, some great tease moves – but a DANCE number? No, it was not, especially given some of the previous dance group acts who didn’t even get to the semi’s. I seriously hope they don’t make it through! I had 3 definites for not going on: Lollipops, Coney Isl Chris and Matt&Anthony (like you, the judges seemed to think something is missing with this & Piers buzzed them too). Were there two wildcards? I know the Lollis were one, but don’t know who the other act was.
My top 2 for going through would be: Ishaara & Barbara Padilla. I thought both acts were really great. Barbara *looked* really beautiful too, I thought – GREAT dress. I was also very impressed with the Recycled Percussion group – hope they go thru as my #3. Most of the rest are toss-ups. Tho I have a problem with kids acts going thru (could any really sustain a Vegas show?), I did think Erik & Rickie did a great Paso Doble and so I wouldn’t mind if they went thru. I will echo others and say what a shame that Pam Martin didn’t get a spot b4 the other dog act did. I would love to see her working with all her dogs, great job. I did not think either Mia or Drew were as great as they were given credit for. EriAm sisters – I think they could really be something, but I wish they had just sung, esp since I didn’t see the auditions. One of the judges loved the dancing too, one didn’t, and Sharon praised them for doing both because she knows how hard it is. But for me, I think the dancing affected their singing. They should limit it, or practice even more. I wouldn’t mind seeing them go thru tho.
Here’s a tip. KISS. Keep it simple Shel. No one is going to read your dissertation.

Henning. Seriously. This board gets 32 posts. Idol, DWTS, House etc have pages and pages. I can barely watch one or two acts before the lack of talent and that tool Hasseldrunk makes me want to put knitting needles through my eyes and ears. Are those ratings for real? So the explanation must be those who are watching do so because they can’t read or write.

we’re only watching it because NOTHING ELSE IS ON THE IDIOT BOX – it’s somewhat amusing to wait for the opening comments from the Hoff — you know it’s going to be stupid but you just can’t turn it off — I would love to see that infamous video of him drunk on the floor eating a hamburger – is it still available on YouTube?
I flip. Baseball, HGTV, Bravo. Anything is better than listening to Hoff and Sharon. Doesn’t it steam you to see them wet themselves over these mediocre folks? And all I can think about is was Hoff always this dumb and pompous or is the alcohol killing whatever brain cells he has left. I think Piers has given up trying to be honest.
Dear Cynical; Even Piers does his fair share of gushing which I find very annoying, not to mention incomprehensible – Did you see all their collective shock when their favourite “Bri” didn’t make it? Ugh. Thank god America showed some sense and voted off that soft cheese girl. I might be forced to actually watch Hannity instead. Desperate times.

Chloe- who the Fk cares what you want to listen to? It’s not “Chloe runs the Earth and choose music for Vegas” It’s up to America and many people like opera. Hence last season the opera singer won
And Barbara really is talented. Her pitch was terrific and her voice is very smooth. I’d listen to her.

I choose Chloe to run the Earth and choose music for Vegas. p.s. her pitch was not terrific, and her voice was very wobbly…

Not to be rude, but that poor girl Mia. She spent a year trying to improve her voice so she could have a better run at at this year. Easier said than done, but if she knew she was going to try and be on the show again, shouldn’t she also have tried to lose a little bit of weight?
Then she wouldn’t have her sob story. But seriously Bri, what does weight have to do with talent? Have you heard/seen Ann Wilson or Stevie Nicks.

Padilla is one of the best singers, so why isn’t she invited to go on the Today show like Danyl from the Xfactor?
no, she’s not…really…she wouldn’t even make it through an opera school audition. She seems lovely, she’s a mom (brownie points there) and she’s a cancer survivor – but a great singer she is not.
Actually, she received a full scholarship to the University of Houston…where she earned a Masters of Music…and won several competitions while she was there…singing opera. FYI, you’ve officially been owned. I hope you now realize that you have no idea what you’re talking about.

Anyone who says Barbara Padilla is just an average singer is a complete hearing-impaired moron. Not many singers give me chills-she did. Fyi, how the eff do you know what opera academy auditions are like? Mia needs to let go of her dream and the Big Macs. I think it is sooo obvious that she knows her weight is 99% of her SOB story and if she lost the weight, she’d lose America’s sympathy votes as well. Her performance was average at best and deserved the vote off. Coney island Chris=Disaster. Period. Im still annoyed by that pixie dust spreading dancer, Arcadian Broad, from the earlier eliminations. How did he make it through. I can skip and jump and twirl. i dont consider that talent.
