Per the books, drinking the vampire’s blood makes the drinker more aware of the vampire’s feelings. So the distinction between the two cases is probably that Eric has the hots for Sookie, and not for Lafayette.
Whatever. If Sookie doesn’t want Eric, I’ll take him–fangs and all.

Maybe Eric is having Lafayette sell V on the down low so he’ll have more power over the human world, ’cause everyone thinks he’s sexy. Wait a minute…aren’t there a lot of obsessed Askars fans developing? I’m starting to be suspicious…
I am stll trying to figure out why Eric is making Lafayette sell V and why Bill looked shocked when Lafayette told him Eric is making him sell it. Also, Bill looked sexier in S1 and now he looks old.
If someone drinks vampire blood while injured they will heal. Sookie was not injured when she drank Eric’s blood, therefore the effects would be different.
I think all of this was explained in one of the nine books.
Also, Eric’s blood healed and made Lafayette stronger, thus Lafayette was able to fight and overpower Eggs even tho Eggs was under Maryanne’s spell. Sookie is going to have to realize soon that maybe Bill’s blood is what made her crave him, too. She’s supposed to be pretty smart. A new episode tonight!! Oh happy day.

The answer to the question why Laf doesn’t have sex dreams about Eric and Sookie does is the creators of the show didn’t think this idea through. Just like V, it is nowhere in the books and doesn’t make much sense.
Idk about any of you, but I always loved Bill and Sookie. But now, she’s having all these sexual fantasies about her and Eric, its hot. So, now Idk whats going to happen now, but I’m excited!!! I hope Eric and Bill have like a showdown or whatever, and fight to win Sookie. *Laughs evily* I love True Blood.
Ugh, why couldn’t that happen to me? I love vampires.
TWO THOUGHTS: (1) lafayette explained that, “V is the life force of a vampire…youtake in a part of the vampire that it came from…you might get a different side of him.” Sookie got Eric’s sexy side, LaF got his strong side (2) Could Eric have force both of them to drink it so that he could keep track of them and give Sookie powers? Afterall, it is “Much stronger” than Bills. Maybe that’s where that white light came from that shocked the Maenad???
