I love Eric in the books and season 1, but season 2 Eric’s scenes with Lafayette are my favorite (Eps 1/2). SO HOTT!
I’m strictly a TV viewer of True Blood; I haven’t read, and don’t really plan to read, the books. So when I talk about the characters or story, it’s from the point of view of the TV series.
Having said that, I’m equal fans of Bill and Eric for different reasons. Bill is the quintessential southern gentleman, while Eric is devious and dangerous. Both are sexy in his own way. As for when Eric became “the” vampire, it was definitely during the Fangtasia intros last season.
I’m just glad that the Bill and Eric popularity now means that REAL VAMPIRES (read: sunlight hurts them, they drink human blood and have actual violent tendencies) are back in style. I’m sorry, but Edward Cullen is not an actual vampire. And compared with Eric and Bill together or apart, Edward’s appeal rapidly deflates (if you ever found him appealing at all; I did not). So let it be said that True Blood appeals to grown women who can handle a little danger…while Edward’s sparkly toothlessness continues to appeal to little girls and their moms.
I agree with EVERYTHING you said, but there’s no need to inject Twilight into this, bringing it up only continues the ridiculous comparison. But yeah, you’re right on….
Couldnt agree with you more Kate. I am an Eric lover, but I dont hate Bill at all. Both are sexy for their reasons. And so sick of watered down vampires like Twilight. But I am all about the excitement that is the viking.
Episode Four, Season One – our first encounter . . . his face held so much expression from the start . . . to subtle with so much meaning . . . and then of course how he leaves Fantasia and comes bolting out that back door . . . absolutely from the start.
Eric was always the sexiest vampire to me. Even in the book, i always thought there were vampires {in other series} that WAY topped bill, then Eric came along and he topped the rest of them. I have always loved eric, and he is certainly the sexiest vampire!
We’ve known that Eric Northman is
the Hottest Vampire from the second
we laid eyes on him in Season 1!!
you didn’t have to convience US!
We know a great thing when we see it!!! How could you not fall in love with 6’4″,blond hair, green eyes and a smile thats lethal???
THANK YOU TO his Father & Mother!!!
I saw Generation Kill before
True Blood premiered so I was aware of Alexander Skarsgard’s acting skills, and of course you notice is looks. Plus, I had read the book years before the series was in development, so when I found out AS was going to play Eric I knew that THIS was going to be excellent. AS is a good actor.
Having read the books I was taken with Eric long before the show starting aring. Can I just say how perfect the casting is on True Blood? And not just for the role of Eric but for all the characters.
As far as the show goes… Eric Northman had me from the minute he showed up on screen.
LOVE the nickname..
The softness in Eric’s face when he was looking down at Sookie in bed and said the word Bloodthirst – I melted. Then as he was walking towards her on the roof and gave her a simple nod again I melted.
The moment he was cast as Eric .. I knew it!!!
Alexander Skarsgård rocks!
In every episode Eric has made me ask “Bill who?”. In this season, Eric’s “Trust me” line and in last nights epi – talking to Godric on the roof. Holy shiz guys …
Eric = Vampire Academy’s Dimitri
ahh i totaly agree. bad assness is always a plus for me.forget the chivalrous boring guy..give me the guy who has passion for dayyss =]
It was the episode a week ago, when Eric told Jason Stackhouse to never drink Vamp again. Jason was so nervous he said, “Yes.” But Eric coached him to say “No” and then smirked as Jason, visibly flustered, scurried away. I fell in love!
My moment- Eric made Pam look in the swamp for Sookie’s attacker and she ruined her pumps. I loved the way he murmured, those were nice pumps. I love a man or vampire who can appreciate fine footwear.
Thanks for reminding me of that scene! I had totally forgotten about it. That was a great line for Eric. The writers have the Eric character down!
I have liked Eric since the very first episode he was in, season 1 @ Fangtasia. More over I have loved Alexander Skarsgard since he played Meekus in Zoolander, “Orange Mocha Frapaccios!” Hotness all around, Ladies type his name in youtube and some more revealing scenes from his other movies!
awwwwww Poor Meekus Toast!! I loved the fact that Alexander was not afraid to do a parody of male models when he himself was too at one time.
I read the books nad the Eric in the show was never appealling as the one on the TV show. In the beginning of the season I liked his hair cut. But it wasn’t until last nights dream sequence that I was won over. Plus Alexander Skarsgård really had a chance to show he can actually act last night.
Sorry, I ment read the books and the Eric in the show was never appealling as the one in the books.
