Our second performance night of the quarterfinals was a bit more daring than what we saw last week. Read the full post.

American Idol attracts better singers. So You Think You Can Dance attracts better dancers. I like AGT for the other acts for which there is no platform: jugglers, magicians, ventriloquists, etc. I do appreciate that there are singers who are too old for Idol and dancers who prefer to compete in groups. I am not a fan of the child-star-in-the-making. I don’t go for the kiddie acts. I don’t tolerate precocious well.
Dancers don’t compete on Idol.
Where did she say that dancers competed on idol?
reread
Unless and until AGT finds the American version of Susan Boyle, the singers from this show are just not going to fare as well as those from Idol. Especially those who fall in the Idol-eligible age range. Arguably, the biggest success from AGT has been, to date, a non-singer who has become a headliner in Vegas. I hear that a ticket to the Terry Fator show is hard to come by–he sells out pretty regularly.
In my opinion Susan Boyle was O.K. but not great. Wasn’t Neal Boyd kind of a Susan Boyle? The reason Susan Boyle was such a media hit is that the media has hypnotized us all to believe only attractive people can have worth. In my town we let ugly folks old jobs, get married and somethimes even have kids. Really! They can even post on EW!!
It was a shame to see Alizma go. They had a good act with the violins, but that singing was…woah. I’m so glad Paradizo Dance went through, and the Fab Five. They were both amazing. I was surprised Charles was sent home…but I agree with Sharon’s reasoning in choosing the dog act…even if, you know, it was kind of lame.
I enjoy watching your show, BUT, if I have to hear the host say “give it up for so & so” one more time, I will barf!!! GET A NEW LINE
I can’t believe the judges voted for a frisbee catching dog over a talented singer – bad choice!
Good show for second round of quarterfinals.
I do think they owe the pianist another shot. It was not his fault that someone tripped over the cord and disconnected the mic from his piano.
