'Community' pilot now on Facebook: I'm a fan

Filed under: Television and tagged: ,

One of my most anticipated TV shows of the new season, Community, is now online! NBC is previewing the pilot of the Joel McHale-led comedy on Facebook. Yes, Facebook.

You have to become a fan of the show to watch the pilot, but fret not. Oh, sure, I’m guessing NBC’s Internet robots live off the glow of my personal information, and find strength by studying my Facebook profile — the better to sell information to advertisers, my pretty — but allow this McHale/John Oliver completist to declare this sacrifice worth it. It won’t be there forever, though — the preview ends in a few days.

Here’s a clip:

I am all over this show like a hobo on a ham sandwich. What about you, PopWatchers? Are you willing to additionally commercialize your Facebook page — Margaret is now a fan of Community! — to see a pilot before it airs on TV?

So, yeah, this is getting a season pass on my DVR IMMEDIATELY. “That means you do my homework, right Seacrest?” PRICELESS for fans of The Soup. That whole deaf thing at the end had me in tears. Maybe it’s just ‘cus it’s early in the a.m. Maybe it’s just ‘cus I find mildly un-PC humor to be hysterical. “Burgers…for your a$$…heh…heh…” OMG. Yup, sign me up–I’m a fan.

Honestly, I’ve been so thrilled with this show since it was announced, I don’t care if my Facebook friends see I’m a fan. I’ve disabled the auto-announce of fandom anyway.

Oh, shock bloody horror, I can’t get it in the UK. Cue whinge noises:

    Why is life so haaaaaaard?

I was going to give this show a chance anyway, seeing as how it stars Joel McHale (and I watch The Soup every time I get a chance), but the trailer sold me! I hope the rest of the season is as good as that trailer. And I hope if it is a good show, that people catch on to it quick.
