In all fairness, I think Big Brother should eliminate “America Vote.” As a black woman, I’m concerned that America will never vote for a black person to win anything on Big Brother. It’s unfortunate that even though Chima won HOH this week, only Jeff have the power to eliminate a player Thursday.
DJ5050, I hope you are referring to other black HG’s and not Chima. She is one of the most disliked HG’s ever and deserves all the bad things that are written about her. It takes a lot to be hated by so many Americans (despite the horrible thing that happened to her). Hell, I’m wondering if her own friends and family even voted for her. Did you see the numbers on the voting for her, you should be ashamed IF you are defending Chima. About Jeff, he is beloved by so many because of charisma and charm, something that can’t be manufactured. The beautiful thing about reality shows is the viewers do not know the contestants and people’s true colors come through with everyone.
You tell the viewers to watch the BB 24/7 feeds. Many of are trying to do just that; but what you and CBS might not know is that the BB staff do a terrible job providing those feeds. The feeds consist of 4 camera shots for the viewer to choose from. But, more often than not, all four feeds consist of just one camera, or two feeds of the same room. In the meantime, activity is happening elsewhere in the BB house, but the choice to watch other HGs interact is not available to the fans.
Today for example, (Sunday Aug. 10), the cameras have been on HOH Chima, who is on a loud, verbal rampage over Russ, and the Coup d’etat that usurps her HOH authority. Each time she calls Russ a terrorist, we get ‘fishes’. I get it, you don’t want us to hear these offensive racist comments – but we are rotating to ‘fishes’ not only on a consistent basis, but the length of the ‘fishes’ are quite long. In the meantime, we are deprived of activity elsewhere in the house because one guest cannot control her nasty-mouth behavior.
If you read the boards, you will find the anger that I’m expressing right now. If this guest is out of control, remove her from the feeds or remove her all together from the house. She has threatened to throw a fit throughout the live broadcast this coming Thursday. She has called Russell a terrorist. The other night she referred to his family as terrorists, and that America does not like Middle Easterners. She has threatened to incite violence so Russ will hit her, hoping he is jailed and raped up the azz every day. She has referred to Jeff as shady, and mob affiliated. She has thrown many (some racial) slurs and insults at America.
As an aside, CBS might do a poll of feed watchers to see how they rate the feeds, their down-time (fishes), the availability of choice or lack thereof of other rooms/guests to watch and listen. As I write this post, all feeds are on the HOH room. Why? People are outside, and in the kitchen – we should have the choice to watch them instead of Chima – who is still rampaging against Russell.
Big Brother is the only reality show I will watch. I watch because of the raw feeds. I’ve often said that it’s too bad this isn’t observed or studied by a college or university. Human interaction under the stresses without a producers choreographing them is fascinating. But if you tallied the numbers of ‘fishes’ in a given hour, it’s enough to cancel the subscription.
Thanks for explaining the meaning of the fishes. Some of us had noticed the insertion of the fishes a couple of times in the regular show and wondered what it meant. I thought maybe it had something to do with a future challenge.
oops sorry I mean “fish” not fishes. Inexcusable for an English major…
I love Big Brother but I will never buy the live feeds again. CBS is totally false advertising the 24/7 feeds especially all this week. Today they have been showing the fish more than the house guests. If this is about Chima and her racism towards Russ kick her out of the house. We paid money for 24/7 feeds and you are not giving us 24/7.
Julie, Because I never started watching BB until the 3rd season, is there anywhere I can catch seasons 1 and 2 maybe in reruns on another channel or on DVD? I just love this show and can’t wait until summer comes to watch it. I even faithfully watched the winter season last year. Thanks and stay the same and don’t change a thing.
I was totally passionate about the show until Ronnie got eliminated. I hated him so much that I felt compelled to watch! Now, I feel sort of a sense of letdown .. Irrational, I know! I missed last night and was hoping for a recap. Is there anywhere I can get current updates? I’ll still watch on Thursdays and probably Sunday, but Tuesday my other favorite show is on at the same time and I totally forgot to flip over to BB.
I would go read a re-cap on Television Without Pity or ZapIt. There are prob. other sites that also have them – try googling. I recommend both of those two though, and I can guarantee you’ll find them very funny.

haa okay anyone whos going to sit here and say that jeff is a floater clearly does not pay attention to the show…
just because he isnt running around talking behind everyones backs and lying to people and trying to get others to turn against one another, does not make him a floater. hes playing the game from a strategic stand point and if you know anything about big brother, hes doing a very good job. he has no real enemies, he hasnt been in any serious drama so far (the fight with russell wasnt serious at all), and possibly most importantly… WE, america, ARE ON HIS SIDE!
sorry but you’re just making yourself look stupid. jeff cant win a competition to save his life? what show were you watching when his back was against the wall and he won the POV to save himself? or did you miss the episode where he came second in the HOH competition only because russell wanted to make a deal? clearly russell was ready to drop and thats why he was in such a rush to make a deal. jeff was just relaxed and prepared to hang on. this was also a very smart move on jeff’s behalf because not only was he safe that week, but he could also compete for HOH the next.
so… floater? just stop talking. sorry :/

Now, since Chima has already threatened to curse you out if her nominations are changed with the ” wizard power”, what is CBS doing? There is plenty speculation that Thursday’s live show is being recorded earlier than usual to avoid disruptions on live TV, is this true?
Maybe they’ll have a person nearby to bleep it out. Didn’t they use a two-second delay for live events after Janet Jackson’s nipple-gate incidents?

I hope you don’t find this offensive, & I ‘really’ hope you post/comment on this. But as I am an aspiring comedian & an Irish/Scot/German American, I do have one question. What is the deal with the girl/woman that you could lick her lips & stick her to a wall?(or any other smooth surface), Hah Hah Hah.(that’s funny) Did you’ll really think she was a good choice for the house? (Chima, Jordan, Lydia?), Oh, did you say Chima? hah hah hah . Hmmmm, let’s see. I have seen/observed/listened to so many racial/hateful comments from this person. What’s the deal? As someone,(me), who does not tolerate racism/hatefullnism, (new word !! hehehe), I find this person to be ‘very offensive’ to the Middle Eastern Citizens in this Country, & the World, & not to mention the rest of us Minorities in this Country,(&/or every True American).- yea, rambling sentence!! ‘ha ha ha’. How can you allow this person to call another House mate a Terrorist? (I haven’t heard or witnessed this myself, but I hear she also has called him “Osama” &/or “Osama Bin Laden”. It is “so” obvious of her meaning. Not in the sense that someone terrorizes the house guests, but she has labeled him as a “Terrorist” & a “Racist”. I find this to be totally offensive. But, then again, I don’t think CBS or you, really care. But, I could be wrong, just an opinion. Hmmmm….is it all about ratings? I’m so curious. C’mon,….tell me the truth, you & I aren’t playing the ‘Game’, so no lies !!

Hmm you will probably find a lot of people on this site will find your initial comment offensive (Chima’s big lips), so I’m surprised that you say you’re against racism. Also don’t know why your particular ethnic make-up is relevant.

Note to Production….you told Chima to get her mic on and she refused…..there is something wrong here. She needs to be reprimanded for the racist comment about Russell. Thank goodness Jessie’s out but Lydia and Natalie are really childish! Production…..please do your job!
I thought it was the right decision by Big Brother to expell Chima. All contestants know the rules going into the game, she did not want to follow the rules so out you go.
CBS..JULIE..BB11 Please explain to the viewers why you have removed all statements regarding the cheating that has gone on…There have been tens of thousands of viewers that demand an answer on why you have covered up Natalie and Kevin cheating…You are sending the wrong message to family around our great country that cheating is acceptable when corporate America benefits. Your ratings will not survive if you let this continue unaddressed!!!
