Brad Pitt’s mug graces this weekend’s issue of Parade magazine. The biggest news off the accompanying interview will no doubt concern the sex he and partner Angelina Jolie may or may not be having in the “secret stone grotto” of his pool, but I was just as interested to see Pitt once again speak up in support of gay marriage. He reaffirms his 2006 promise not to get legally wed until everyone can and says, “They say gay marriage ruins families and hurts kids. Well, I’ve had the privilege of seeing my gay friends being parents and watching their kids grow up in a loving environment.” He goes on to say, “Would it bother me if a child of mine turns out to be gay? No, not one bit.” Pitt’s been pretty consistent in his views on this, and he’s even put his money where his mouth is when it counted — during the Prop 8 battle in California last year, he ponied up $100,000 to fight the gay marriage ban at a time when precious few celebs, gay or straight, had offered up as much. Still, I’m always surprised and pleased when I read about Pitt’s support. The Brangelina road show can be exhausting sometimes, but it’s no small thing when one of the biggest, heartthrob-iest movie stars in the world takes a stand. What do you think? Do you like that Pitt’s willing to take a controversial position? Does it make you think better of him or worse?
