Jim and Pam's 'Office' wedding: How do you see it?

SPOILER ALERT! The Office’s Mindy Kaling revealed yesterday on her Twitter feed that she was currently writing Jim and Pam’s wedding episode with executive producer Greg Daniels, but somehow, I thought it too good to be true. In the video below, however, Kaling confirms the news to EW’s Michael Ausiello, saying it’s the season’s fourth episode, that Pam (Jenna Fischer) is about four-and-a-half months pregnant in it, and that she’s feeling some pressure knowing that fans have a very specific idea of how they would like the big day to go down. So, let’s add to it: What’s your vision for the wedding?

Clearly, Michael (Steve Carell) has to suggest that they do a “Forever”-style dance entrance so they’ll become a YouTube sensation. I will need him to act this out before they shoot it down. Then, he surprises everyone by choreographing his own walk down the aisle anyway. Other than that, I just require that Jim (John Krasinski) flash Pam that smile that says no matter what these idiots around us do, all I see is you.

I love TV.

Your turn.

I think even if it is an absolute disaster, it’s going to be perfect. I’ve been waiting for this for so long!!!

Backyard wedding, simple and no-fuss. Phyllis’ wedding was a nightmare and Michael behaved horribly. I hope Jim and Pam keep it low-key, especially with a baby on the way :-)

Actually, if she’s already that far along, I’d kind of thought they might get married over the summer, off-camera. I know they said they wanted a cheesy wedding, but their little surprise might’ve changed their minds about that.

    Mandi,

Your “Michael wants a ‘Forever’ style entrance” scenario is ABSOLUTELY perfect in that it’s exactly something that guy would do.

This is my favorite show on TV, but I don’t really have a scenario in my head as to how the wedding should play out. All I know is that Michael will try to make it all about him and that Dwight will say something borderline nice before “Schrute-ing” it up. The rest of the cast (Meredith getting drunk, Angela giving Pam the stink-eye for the shotgun wedding, Creed maybe trying to perform the service himself) will also be used to hilarious effect, I’m sure.

But instead of walking in to Chris Brown’s “Forever,” they should walk in to “Forever” by Uncle Jesse and the Rippers.

It is absolutely something that Michael would do. Now I’m going to be a little disappointed if they don’t do that.

Either that or…the office-mates (especially Michael and Kelly who would *so* bridesmaid-zilla it up) take over and it gets too big, so Jim and Pam run away to Vegas or Atlantic City.

They should definitely write their own vows, and while they are reading it have Michael and Dwight do “shout-out’s” e.g. “that’s what she said” and some of their other ones.

Also, Jim has to have Dwight and Andy share best man priviledges due to a fight and then they both decide to make a toast that is a song compilation.

Considering that every Jim and Pam “big moment” on The Office has thus far been beautiful, unexpected, private/intimate, and very honest, I can only hope the same for their wedding. But since the whole episode is centered on their wedding, this will probably not be the case. But I have faith that it will be funny, especially since Greg Daniels is co-writing the episode (about time that man got back in The Office writers room!)

OMG, Ceballos! I can totally see Creed being an ordained minister!

I would also love to see Michael dancing down the aisle. An Andy performance, a drunk Meredith and Kelly as a bridesmaid!!

    • orville

With Kelly being a bridesmaid-zilla, of course.

  • kim in kentucky

maybe Toby finally confessing his feelings to Pam ??

  • Nee Nee

I think it’s time for another trip to Shrute Farms! And Andy probably has a few things left over from his cancelled wedding that he can bestow upon the happy couple.

  • Melanie

I would like to see a beach wedding, sunset, bare feet. Something simple and small. Jim is such a hopeless romantic, so bet he’ll have a surprise for Pam that will have her balling. Something sentimental, like the tea-pot gift from season 2.
