I am certain that my dad is up there somewhere, shaking his head in startled disbelief at how many people were touched by his work. He would be more amazed than we, his family, have been, and believe me, it has been overwhelming – - all those who attended his memorial, who phoned and wrote, and particularly those who have spoken about him online, from Los Angeles to New Zealand. People who were touched by his work, who never knew him and yet had tears in their eyes as they told me how a part of their childhood has died with Les Lye. My unassuming, humble dad could never imagine how his work resonated. I hope he’s reading and listening along with us!

I was hired in 1980 here at CJOH to work on YCDTOTV. Les was one of my first friends and a true gentleman. We’ll miss him.

A shining star in a usually dull world of television. He will be missed. I loved watching him on You Can’t Do That On Television. Amazing actor and comedian. I wish I had met him

Not sure I would have seen it anywhere else. My sympathy to the family. Les Lye deserves the tribute and so many folks of a certain age definitely know the face (even if they only knew him as Ross or Barth).
A terrific vaudeville inspired character actor. He truly held that show together.
EW, please do not leave him out at the end of the year memorial (and what a great thing it would be to see him listed in the new issue and even see a YCDTOTV article in the future!).

Kelly, I am very sorry for the loss of your uncle. He gave us so many laughs as kids (that continue today!) Sounds like he was one cool guy…
