Favorite one, “The Howling Man.” When the guy let the devil free.
Time Enough at Last and The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street. I can’t watch To Serve Man anymore without thinking of The Simpsons and Kang and Kodos.
My all-time favourite Twilight Zone ep is “Time Enough at Last,” which starred Burgess Meredith as Henry Bemis, a meek fellow who never seemed to have the time he would have liked to read, what with a nasty boss and nagging wife. After a nuclear war, he finds him the sole survivor and heads for the library, where an unexpected event takes place.
I also particularly enjoyed “Paladin of the Lost Hour,” which starred Danny Kaye, from the first effort to reboot the series. The ep was written by Harlan Ellison and was faithful enough to his original script that he did not use his Cordwainer Bird [as in giving them the...] pseudonym in the credits.
Even the most recent version had some good eps. I particulatly enjoyed “Azoth the Avenger Is a Friend of Mine” – a look at child abuse, comic books and the nature of heroism.
My all time favorite is “To Serve Man” but a close second is the one were everyone had plastic surgery when they turned 18 so they would all look beautiful and like each other. I believe there were only a few models you could choose and everyone would have a number so you could be recognized but there was one girl didn’t want to change the way she looked. I can’t remember the title but the interesting thing about the eposode is that it was a futuristic look at the year 2003. Twilight Zone was very insightful about the human race and where it was headed.
My fave episodes are as follows: “Night Call” which is so good! An old woman receives a phone call from a long dead love, and where that call comes from is too creepy! “Midnight Sun” tells of what happens when the Earth falls out of its rotation with the Sun. “To Serve Man” its a type of book, is all I will say! I hope they get good writers & several good directors for each segment, which will make all the difference! And also, lets hope there are no tragic accidents during production……
My two favorite are “Stopover in a Small Town” about a couple who believes they have partied too much and have woken up to find themselves in a small town. The small town is just a set…won’t give away the ending!
And I like “Five Characters in Search of an Exit.” The five are a general, a hobo, a ballerina, a clown, and a bagpipe player…all in search of an exit. Best title of a tv episode ever…sums it up so nicely.
I love the Twilight Zone! I take off every 4th of July and New Years day (I work for a resort that is open these days) so I can watch the marathons on Sci Fi (or SyFy, whatever they’re calling it now).
I like Little girl lost. That episode is just scary. It was parodied on one of The Simpson’s halloween episodes. Other episodes that also parodied are Nightmare at 20,000 Feet, To serve man…and others.
But yes!
Hello, does anyone know where you can watch the REMAKE of The Monsters Are Due On Maple Street? I can not find it anywhere and YouTube only has pare 1. I am referring to the remake made in 2003, I believe, In color that Forest Whitaker hosted.
