Sienna Miller and Jonny Lee Miller are coming to Broadway this fall in a new production of After Miss Julie, which begins previews Sept. 18 and opens Oct. 22 at the American Airlines Theater (227 West 42nd St.). EW has the exclusive first image from the show, seen here, and it looks powerfully sexy and sultry as the pair share a moment together on the kitchen table. Hot.
The play — which comes from New York City's Roundabout Theatre Company — is an adaptation of Miss Julie, August Strindberg's 1888 play about sex and class. This production moves the action up to an English country house on the evening of the British Labour Party's historic landslide win in the 1945 election, which director Mark Brokaw says is much like the situation around "our last election here with Obama." He continues: "There was this great collective release. It was a moment of seismic change and possibility."
The story, as you can probably guess from the photos, is one of romance — the twist is that Sienna's character, Miss Julie, is rich, while Jonny's character, John, is her chauffeur. So it's a clash of social classes and crossing boundaries that probably shouldn't have been crossed. But, on this momentous election night, Brokaw says, "Everything seems possible and all borders seem to have been potentially shattered." Teases Brokaw, "It's a story about a night that shouldn't have happened but was destined to happen."
What do you think, PopWatchers? Does this photo pique your interest in After Miss Julie? Have you seen a production of Miss Julie or the adaptation before? Do Sienna Miller and Jonny Lee Miller seem like they'd have real chemistry?

I donot think that anyone,a good hearted person wouldlike to watch her on broadway when she flaunts her naked body romance with a still married father on internate.
I donot see any chemistry here in the above picture.
I don’t really care for her but I am the world’s biggest Jonny Lee Miller fan so I am DYING to see this! The funny thing is, he’s Jude Law’s best friend and she’s his ex! Jude will also be appearing on Broadway around the same time. Could be interesting.
Darn! I thought I was the world’s biggest Jonny Lee Miller fan… Regardless of my fan status, I am so excited for this. Won’t get to see it (being confined to FL and all) but hope that everyone who does enjoys it!
@Jessica S. LOL, well we can share that title! You DO know about the Yahoo fangroup, correct?
That’s a sexy picture. I mean it’s Johnny Lee Miller! Of course, I’m interested. Alas, I won’t get to see it. I don’t live anywhere near New York.
Miller the ho playing a ho, how absolutely novel.
This play insulted my intelligence and my patience. I don’t think there were ten sentences uttered in the first 15 minutes of the play. Between, foot stamping, looking at distances, “Uh hemming” alot and just plain pauses, I lost it and left with at least ten others before the first act finished. The actors were good looking but stunted in creating anything but bad speech deliveries to me. The “plot” of class crossing was subserved by a
gorgeous stage set and a script filled with a lot of gibberish and a few impotant lines having to do with crossing the class line. Give me a break! This is 2009 and we are brighter than the stagers imagine. These actors couldn’t two-step when it called for it. STARS be damned if they can’t convey the story of the play.
We saw “Superior Donuts” just off Broadway—10 times better than this with a few actors in it that created great moments.
crap actress, why would anyone pay to see Sienna miller on stage?
