I love the closer and the last episode with Mary McDonnell was amazing! I cant wait to see them at it again.
This season retains the stellar performances of all the cast from seasons past, but the storylines are getting a little clumbsy. The last episode with a psychiatrically-challenged man doing so much police work and is taken so seriously? Something did not quite ring true. It’s a given these outstanding actresses will deliver, but will the writers?
Mary needs to have her hair down, that hair is amazing.
OMG, Ck I was just about to comment on that last horrible episode. That was so annoying. This show is too good for storylines like that. I think they need Gina Torres back. I miss the whole crew. Don’t care about Mary McDonald although I loved her in Killer Hair and the sequel. But her face looks weird.
They’ve already clashed. Did you miss the third episode of the new season (titled “Red Tape”) in which Sgt. Gabriel gets into hot water for shooting a suspect who may have been unarmed?
I thought her performance in 503 was preatty bad. Not ad bad as the one in Grey’s Anatomy but close. She wants to act wooden, it works. Ienver noticed that in BSG but frankly she doesn’t do nuances well.
Red Tape was an amazing episode with Mary McDonnell. I loved the confrontation of these two strong kickass women. So I can’t wait the new episode!
and I hope Mary is going to let her hair down after the funeral. It’s just too awesome not to see it. 
Oh, and yep, Brenda looks great in a uniform.

So ,I think that Mary Mcdonnell is one really amazing actress!! I love the eps in The Closer with her ! I can’t wait to the next ep !! I wanna Raydor to be included as a permanent character-she is great !!
The last ep “tapped out ” was not good -really this mentally ill man?!.just something didn’t work for me.
Second ,stop mutter at the uniforms and Mary’s hair. they both go to a funearal on a cop . they should look appropriate!
So long as this gig keeps her out of Grey’s Anatomy, I’m all for it. She was tres estrange in GA.
Hate what they’ve done to Mary’s gorgeous hair, but glad to see her back for another episode. Love both Mary and Kyra, just wish both had received Emmy noms instead of just Kyra. Mary has been so Emmy-worthy, from the day Battlestar Galactica debuted in 2003!
WHY IS THIS QUESTION BEING ASKED? THIS WON’T BE MCDONNEL’S FIRST EPISODE ON THE CLOSER AND WE’VE SEEN BRENDA IN HER PROPER POLICE UNIFORM SEVERAL TIMES ALREADY.
i don’t know why but i’ve never liked mmd. however i loved her here. loved when she swaggered in and took over the crime scene and when brenda smacked her around about rank. can’t wait to see what else she brings to the closer. and i have to agree with the other posters, that hair is amazing.
um, Andy? obviously you haven’t seen much of The Closer. we have NEVER seen Brenda in uniform. Pope, yes, but never Brenda. check your facts before screaming at the entire group.
Mary McDonnell rocks! always has, always will! i was thrilled to learn she would be appearing on The Closer, it’s one of my favorite shows. i sincerely hope TPTB recognize and offer her a permanent guest spot, if not a recurring role on the show. i, for one, can’t wait for Monday night!
Stop speed reading, where in the article did it say that this was the first ep. MMD has appeared in? This is talking about her being in 3 ep. straight for this storyline. So expect more than the two or three scenes she was in before. Calm down people.
