Who knows if Whip It — Drew Barrymore's look at the empowering world of female roller derby starring Juno's Ellen Page — will be consistently funny or just deliver a couple of direct hits. For the moment, let's just celebrate having Juliette Lewis back on the big screen, where she hasn't been since 2006's Catch and Release. I'm serious, by the way. You never know what she's going to do, which makes seeing her alongside first-time director Barrymore, Saturday Night Live's Kristen Wiig, and Eve exciting.

Daniel Stern is alive?
Juliette Lewis is one of the most likeable ladies I can think of.
Not to mention the return of Arrested Development’s Alia Shawkat (Maebe Funke)
Maebe, Marcia Gay Harden, Kristen Wiig, Juno, Drew Barrymore, Eve, and Juliette Lewis.
Very excited for this. Fits the whole “indie comedy category” pretty well.
Everyone will remember Page for Juno, but I’ll always remember her from Hard Candy!
This movie looks alright I guess.

This looks like it might actually be a little better than the book- granted, the book wasn’t great in the first place. The glaring omission of any lesbian players should be a red flag for anyone who’s ever actually attended a roller derby bout.
I’m actually kind of excited to see this movie. I love those female empowerment/coming of age films where the girl finds herself. Go Drew!
Maeby Funke!!! WOOT! Love that she and Ellen Page will be sharing the screen. <3
this movie actually looks kinda cool
Juliette Lewis? How about Daniel Stern as the dad! The Wet Bandits!
I am guessing that this is supposed to be a parody on the Raquel Welch film from the 1970’s? It should be funny,
can’t wait for this one! The Other Sister’s in it!!
I think this looks pretty good. I’ll definitely have to check it out.
I am really looking forward to seeing this one. The cast looks so amazing. I am in love with Ellen Page.
Looks like a fun night out at the movies to me!
