I’m very happy that Generation Kill has so many nominations (mostly technical, mind) and am ELATED for Flight of the Conchords!
Am not even going to start on all the major snubs that shouldn’t have been (Elizabeth Moss over January Jones? Really??!) so will just shut up.
Love that Motherlover got nominated for Best Song.
i am angry and disgusted that BSG did not get a series nomination. and michael urie was snubbed. emmy is more out of touch than grammy or oscar.
Where’s the love for Vince Gilligan’s writing prowess on “Breaking Bad”?
No Katherine Heigl?! She SHOULD have got a nomination her performance was brilliant and I would have liked to see Justin Chambers get a nom too I thought he was great.
Lee Pace, Anna Friel, and Chi McBride for Pushing Daisies
Ian McShane for Kings
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Pushing Daisies
Family Guy for Comedy? I know it’s great that we finally have an animated show in the top categories, but Family Guy?
But I’m pleased that Rose Byrne finally was acknowledged for her work in “Damages”. The nomination’s a year late, but nice to see.
TRUE BLOOD!!! Totaly SNUBBED
NO JANUARY JONES?!
the hot mess of snubs committed this morning should surprise no one. i realize most (if not all) who will read this and comment could in general care less about the daytime emmy awards, but very similar “WTF?” moments happened on the morning of the nominees announcements for this emmy red-headed step sister earlier in the summer.
i will reiterate– yet again– that Crystal Chappell is the queen of all daytime acting and received the snubs of all snubs by not garnering a nomination for her impeccable work in 2008. she could easily give Hargitay and Field a run for their money this year.
and not that she necessarily deserves it, but anybody else wondering where the indignation about Heigl’s exclusion is this AM?
Happy for Jermaine and FoTC but no Cat Deely in Reality Host? Unforgivable.
Much as I love Neil Patrick Harris, I will most definitely be ignoring the Emmy telecast this year. With no BSG, no FNL, no Burn Notice and no ER nods (come on, this last season was AMAZING!!!!!!!) I have come to the conclusion that the Emmy voters are the lamest bunch of know-nothings ever assembled in one delegation. This stinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don’t understand how Cat Deeley keeps getting overlooked for So You Think You Can Dance. She’s an incredible host and should definitely be nominated (and win)!
Totally agree with Yasser.
January Jones gave the best performance by an actress in 2008….in any medium (yep, I’m including Kate Winslet’s extraordinary perf in “Revolutionary Road”). The fact that Jones wasn’t nominated–even in the supporting actress drama category–is a bleeting disgrace.
I always have to remind myself that these awards don’t matter, but I still wish that BSG had won every single award this year. Can’t believe it – but I am satisfied with the fact that the show will stand the test of time as one of the greatest ever.
Also, no FNL!? This is really an absurd “awards” show.
