Okay, so it might not be the most earth-shattering news. Rumors about Cox and Arquette’s return had been circulating for the past month. And the pair appeared in the previous three Scream films, so what would keep them from starring in a fourth? But still, a Scream film without the Cox-Arquettes would be a little like an American Pie sequel without Eugene Levy, no?

As much as I wanted them to keep the Scream Trilogy indeed a Trilogy, I’ll be there. The addition of David and Courtney bodes well and since Williamson is writing, hopefully it’ll be on par with Scream 1 and 2. I would like to see Neve and Wes back in the fold though. The five original players would make for an interesting reboot, even though things should be left alone.
Loved this series! As I mentioned in the Harper’s Island thread, this series I liked because of the “Whodunnit” aspect.
Storyline wise though, Neve Campbell HAS to come back…right? What’s Scream without Cindy!
By the way, my money is on either Gale or Dewey for the killer

The “Scream” movies were great fun, IMO. I’d love to see another one. I’d like to see Neve back too, I think. Even if the plot wasn’t Sydney-centered… Just get a clever writer and this could be awesome!
Can’t say I’m anticipating another Scream movie, as the third film ruined the entire franchise. But, when the movie comes out, I will go see it. I’m a glutton for punishment.
I’m not sure there ARE any other alum besides Neve Campbell who could return…they all died in the movie! Maybe Sidney’s dad or Randy’s sister.

Oh, who am I kidding? I’m plunking down cash to see this. Besides Neve Campbell’s Sidney, I wonder if they’ll figure out a way to bring back Jamie Kennedy. They already went to the “video from beyond the grave” well…there’s probably not a way to bring him back that wouldn’t be bad (like “Scream 3″)

First I read about a 3rd Bridget Jones movie, now another Scream. I was over the Scream franchise by the 2nd. Now everyone is trying to make the real horror slasher thing, it just falls into the category with the same movies they were making fun of.

Remember that Kevin Williamson didn’t write Scream 3, that’s probably why it wasn’t as good as the first two (but still entertaining).
Now Kevin Williamson is back, so I’m sure he’ll come up with one helluva script.

I don’t know where all this hate for Scream 3 is coming from. I thought it was better than Scream 2. I think Neve Campbell should at least return to be killed at the beginning of the movie. But make it seem like she’s the star of the movie, then bam, she’s dead before the credits.
I heard Scream 4 was going to poke fun of remakes, since everything is getting remade now. The story would center around the prospect of remaking the first Stab movie, and then the killings start again in Woodsburrow, which ends up bring Sid, Gail and Dewey back into the mix. It sounds like a plan…I would see it. The writers just need to keep it in Woodsburrow…not Hollywood. p.s. – I might have spelled the town name incorrectly but ya’ll know where I am referring to..LOL.
Stop it! It is obvious that both are not even on the radar anymore and this is an obvious ploy to cash in. Scream was cool up to the 2nd one. By the 3rd one it became what it had been lampooning, a joke. A 4th Scream is very unnecessary. Maybe they can talk Jennifer Aniston into making a cameo, only then would it be worth it.
WOW, i’m so excited, I didn’t even know even hear the rumors assuming it would just be a reboot with all new stars — so this is very exciting news, I cannot wait!!!!!! Loved the scream films
I love Dom’s idea to have Neve return and then kill Sydney off before the opening credits. I mean, I love Neve, but this would be a good way to make it new and different, but still bring back the survivors from the other films.
I’m super excited Kevin Williamson is super talented thats why Scream 3 sucked so much cause he didn’t write it.
I really like that whole “let make fun of remakes” plot. Seriously, Hollywood has been a lot about remakes/reboots/reinventions/etc lately. They are even remaking movies that came less than 5 years ago! So, I like the idea. I think Kevin Williamson will come up with something good.
i think that if you make a scream 4 i think it should be like the 1st one, i thought that was the most terrorfing one of all the scream movies. don’t get me wrong i still love 2 and 3 but the scary parts were too preditable and wasn’t scary. just try to work on that a little better

Yes we all know Neve said no for sidney, but that might change now that Cox, and Arquette are returning.
I know that 3 was a little disappointing, but it wasn’t terrible. I’m sure that Kevin will write something awesome, since he did a superb job with 1 & 2. Now all we need is for Neve to say “Yes” which she should, since she’s doing nothing with her career right now. And we just need Wes Craven to direct. Even if Neve says no, with Kevin writing… I’m sure he’ll still write an excellent Script!!

i agree the fact number 3 wasnt that good purely because williamson did not write it.but i have to say i was a major fan of this series and am looking forward for this,i like ehat williamson said ‘it has to be as good as the first’ with a shocking killer at the end,also i really want to see Sidney dead…….anyone else?
