The science building at the college where I work has a floor that’s set in a checkerboard pattern in the atrium. Halloween the year before last (right about when Deathly Hallows came out) a group of students organized a game of wizard chess. People signed up to be the different pieces, dressed up, and played on the checkerboard floor. Also, a floor of one of the dorms was set up with Hogwarts banners. I love this fandom.
I love the Harry POtter fanbase. It is so easy to find fan sights and other more…eccentric?…things. I wanted to make myself a pair of spectrespecs (for the HPB midnight showing) and I instantly found a teemplate!!! It was so cooool!!!!
I am so happy to be part of this fandom. HP is love.
