I loved watching harpersIland i think
it was a great show I did not think it was henry i was shocked i really thought it was jimmy.man i liked henry.but he bad (lol)
I enjoyed the show enough to keep watching it but ot definitely had those ‘What the hell?’ moments. My big question is Henry’s whole ‘we can be together’ stuff with Abby. Does he mean romantically? Dude, she’s your half-sister! And did he really date Trish for all those years just to set this whole thing up? There must have been an easier way really. Did he actually ever love her? Hmmm….plot holes…
A little disappointed with the end. Henry was obvious and then they left the 4 most obvious people as survivors, heroine, boyfriend, mother and small child.
I think if CBS would have waited until June to start this show, it would have done much better in the ratings as original summer fare. Do we really need another season of Big Brother?
hey. to answer your question about what henry said to sully,i am pretty sure he said “you never should have dumped Trish”. i was pretty confused with that too but thats just my guess because remember when sully admitted to trying to have sex with trish in one of the other episodes. so maybe they might have had a thing or have went out before.
Henry said “you never should have dumped Trish” because Trish and Sully dated in college. I’m a little sad that that fact was never addressed, but what are you going to do? Overall I was feeling a bit let down after watching the finale. I could have gotten over the poor judgement of almost every character (because that has been happening since episode 1) had their deaths not seemed so pointless. I think Sully should have lived, he was turning his life around! Cal, Chloe, Sully, Danny, and maybe Trish were characters who would have served the show better if they had ended up alive. The pointless killing was the thing that bothered me the most. I would have been okay with the creepy, near incestuous ending if the aforementioned charcaters had gotten on their own boat and been able to meet up with Abby and Jimmy on the mainland. But alas-no dice. The final didn’t live up to the standard of previous weeks but I shall choose to remember Harper’s Island as it was pre-”Henry is the killer”
Up until E11, this was one of the best things CBS had going. The music, characters, actors, writing, and the humor. Awesome!!. I thought it was obvious WF was alive and coming back. Not disappointed. Then came E12 and E13. I could accept them going with Henry, but once they did, I was expecting the writers to pull off a major twist with the “motivation” that would blow us all away. But, it became, obvious character AND obvious motivation. The twist became more about “who” Henry was killing and the “betrayal,” more than the “motivation.”It still could have worked. But then it felt so rushed all of a sudden, it became way too much “telling” and not enough “showing.”
They should have condensed the writing in the earlier episodes, used more flashbacks to do the telling, and spent way more time “showing”how/why Henry became so twisted, so we as viewers were given the opportunity to connect with Henry on an emotional level. If we had been allowed that connection, the murders wouldnt have SEEMED so senseless. A few of us did feel bad for Henry but if the writers had done a better job in the end, “most”of us would have felt “alot “of pity for Henry and his illness, and been left with “WHOA” instead of the disappointing “WHAT” that we were left with. The lack of emotional connection is what ultimately gave us just another slasher. JMO.
I loved the show but i agree the finale was kind of weak. I already had suspected Henry cuz it was kind of ovbious. (He didnt shoot Wakefield!) But the actors that played Henry, Chris Gorham and Jimmy, C.J. Thomason were phenomenal. they should get more acting oppurtunities.
I thought the finale was great, it had some nonrealistic parts of course, but people need to remember its a show! This is meant to entertain us, not to bring in every depth of reality, that goes for the EW article writer, it doesn’t all need to be realistic. Obviously it didn’t bother you that much since you watched the whole series.
Now I always thought of Henry possibly being it because I thought that Jimmy was to obvious, but during the night I was switching back and forth on who it was. When Henry stabbed Trish I was shocked and devasted. The actor who played Henry did an excellent job as acting as a nice guy and who he truly turned out to be.
Overall the ending was partially shocking, and the people who lived were kind of obvious. I figured Abby and Jimmy would live but I was a little surprised that Shea lived. Madison I figured would live just because I didn’t think the writer’s would kill off the little girl. In a way I wish there would have been a little more closure.
I record all shows I watch and when in doubt about what someone said, I put on the closed caption. The show had it’s faults, but still loved it.
But all in all it was a great series that entertained me till the end!
I am truly disappointed with the ending. I don’t understand Henry’s motivation to kill everyone.
Guyz Henry told Sully you shouldn’t have dogged Trish meaning you shouldn’t have tried to sleep with her cuz Sully confessed he tried to after Henry and Trish broke up.
btw C.J. Thomason (jimmy) and chris gorham are really hot and are really good actors.
Honestly, i don’t know why Abbey would want to leave the island after that. Being on a deserted island with both Henry and Jimmy? Ohlalala
Great First 12 Episodes, Sully Should Have lived Over Madison Though.
Wow. all that buildup to bring us to the weakest episode of the season. So weak and predictable, so commonplace, and so illogical, especially in the closing half hour we were hugely disappointed. Huge fail on the finale.
