Yea, and steroids fit that psychological problem as well with Sports stars trying their best to win or break a record. Botox and Steroids have the same problem and same effects and they both can be just as dangerous when people take them too many times. Rachel Weisz ’s comparison is pretty accurate and i agree with her call to ban.

Steroids and Botox have nothing in common. Rachel Weisz is right, though. In America, we are obsessed with the way we look. That’s more a psychological problem. But she goes on to say that the use of Botox injections leave actors less able to convey emotion and that it harms the acting industry as much as steroids harm athletes.
You’ve got to be kidding.

I’d just like to correct a misapprehension some people have, that actresses who don’t look “surgical” are always aging naturally. Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren do look to me as if they’ve had facelifts, but subtle ones. I could be wrong, but there are definitely such cases. Botox is another matter…

You think what Rachel Weisz said was under-thought Adam? It was much more intelligent that you wrote in your sexist article. Rachel’s absolutely right, Botox does steal away an actors ability to express emotion. You really should think before you talk about anyone being under-thought.

I don’t think there needs to be a ban – people vote with their wallets. I used to enjoy watching actors like Meg Ryan, Nicole Kidman, Al Pacino, the list goes on … but now see movies despite their being in them, because I find their “faces” so distracting. Moviegoers want to connect in some way to the characters they watch – actors who go too far with the botox/plastic surgery lose popularity because people can’t get past the botoxed expressions – the actor just seems fake. It’s like hearing the musician instead of being able to just hear the music. The faces look puppety rather than real. Give me a real face with some character – flaws, wrinkles, whatever – in it any day.
