Who deserves an Emmy nod for Lead Actor/Actress in a Drama? (Not just the usual suspects!)

Bethany Joy Galeotti is continuously overlooked by the sinking ship that is One Tree Hill, but I do think she has what it takes to be up there.
Let’s just say what we all know: the sci-fi genre is where it’s at on tv….everything else sucks (except for Rescue Me and Weeds).
Putting this year aside……
Way overrated for years and deserve recognition: Jensen Ackles (Supernatural), Allison Mack and Erica Durance (Smallville), Amanda Tapping and Richard Dean Anderson (Stargate SG-1), Zachary Quinto and Greg Grunberg (Heroes).
Sometimes I wish they would implement a new rule that if you win the Emmy you cannot be nominated for the same role the following year. Just a one year restriction.
This wouldn’t be necessary if the EMMY’s were not so stuck on nominating and awarding the SAME people for the same roles year after year when there is so much new blood just as if not more worthy of recognition.
Mariska Hargitay is excellent as Olivia Benson, but nominating her every year is getting old. People will still watch SVU regardless of its Emmy status.
Its your last frakkin chance EMMY!
Please look at Mary McDonnell, Edward James Olmos, Katee Sackhoff, Tricia Helfer, and BSG. A group amongst others that often go overlooked for the SAME ole people.

Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler! Friday Night Lights, even though it went through awkwardness (it’s a show about high school so of course it should go through awkwardness) is still some of the best television on television…
I’m sorry Supernatural fans, and yes, I am a huge one, but in an attempt at honesty I in no way think that Jared Padalecki acting is Emmy worthy. He is a terrific actor who, over the progression of this show and this character in particular has quite frankly evolved into something quite grand. Yet Ackles is in another league. It’s all very well and good praising them equally as they are equally the two leads but, boy, Jensen Ackles has got that character to perfection. In a show full of demons and angels and monsters, Ackles’ Dean Winchester grounds all that, he is phenomenal. You could say he has deserved the nod for the past few years but this season OTT storylines have been salvaged thanks to his brilliant skill. He should most definately be up there this season.
And cue the Supernatural backlash for comparing Jared and Jensen.
BUT, wait, I presumed Hugh Laurie must have already won at least once at some point. No? Then I most definitely vote Greg House for the win, sorry Dean.
I agree with Edward James Olmos. He’s acted circles around everyone with his portrayal of Adama. Same with Mary McDonnell’s President Roslin. Amazing work.
And I’m gonna add to the Jensen Ackles Emmy wish. I just started watching Supernatural this year. Its terrible this show doesn’t get the love it deserves.
Ackles’ work as Dean Winchester has been heartbreakingly wonderful. Besides BSG, I cannot remember the last time I was so struck by an actor’s performance and the nuances brought to a character. I’m disappointed I didn’t catch on to watch SPN sooner.

Well, I really hope that Paget Brewster’s talent will be finally recognized. I didn’t like everything she has done in the past but whatever the quality of the show (except Criminal Minds which is really good) in which she acts, her work is always good.
Maybe the curse (shows were almost always over after the first season, except Huff which run 2 seasons and currently Criminal Minds which runs for 3 1/2 years)
