As Lost fans are keenly aware, exec producers Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof usually remain in "radio silence" (their term) after the conclusion of every season until their annual summit meeting with thousands of geeked-up loyalists at Comic-Con each July in San Diego. However, in advance of this year's much anticipated appearance (slated for the morning of July 25, according to insiders), Cuse and Lindelof have been giving interviews to press over in England while they attend a salute to Lost at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts. Not that they are saying much: in an interview with Digital Spy, the producers declined to answer questions about the season 5 finale (specifically: is Juliet really dead?) and wouldn't comment on their last season vision. But when asked what seems to be the burning question of the moment–will we be seeing departed characters like Boone, Shannon and Charlie make return appearances next year?–Lindelof teased that they do hope to give many fan favorites some sort of "curtain call." How might Lost accomplish that creative feat, given most of these departed folks are, like, dead? TBD, though Lindelof does remind us that Lost was figuratively time traveling (see: flashbacks and flash-forwards) long before it was literally time traveling (see: season 5). Then again, when it comes to Season Six, Lindelof tells Digital Spy, "anything goes." There's been other Lost news recently, too. Last week, word got out that there will be 18 hours next season instead of the planned 17. The extra 60 minutes will be used to mount a two-hour season premiere. Also, ABC and the producers are asking fans to write and record their own "mock theme song" for Lost. Now this is a challenge that just may inspire me to pick up the guitar that my wife and kids gave me for Father's Day, despite my total lack of six-string experience. But it's never too late to learn. And as it happens, I work with a pretty aces guitar player: none other than "Totally Lost" co-host Dan Snierson. Maybe he can give me some pointers. Maybe we can write our own Lost mock theme song! And maybe we could even perform it… at our own "Totally Lost" panel at Comic-Con! Yes, you read that right: we're doing the panel thing. Thanks for the “Lost” news, Doc! I really hope they DO bring back the dead characters – in some fashion, at least. I miss them all – well, maybe not ALL of them (*cough*Ana Lucia*cough*).
BTW Doc, if I was going to Comic Con, I would totally go to your panel. But those tickets sold out months ago. Ah well. Good luck!

Ana Lucia got her curtain call courtesy of Hurley’s imagination…and it was perfect! Any other AL appearance would only ruin that scene. Nikki and Paolo, however, can remain buried alive.

I loved the scene with Ana Lucia, too…it would be great if all the characters that passed away on the island had such great tongue-in-cheek scenes.

The final sesaon of the ultimate sci-fi tv drama. Somehow I wonder if 18 hours for such a profound hit is enough. I’m sure L O S T fans would love to see something similar to the 3 part Grey’s anatomy event episode when Meredith hit her head and fell into the water unconscious. L O S T should get 20 hours and a big 3 part conclusion. But, enough contemplating the end of the best scripted show on tv. Time to get working on that song.
I wish, for once, that interviewers would NOT ask questions about Libby, but instead ask relevant questions, such as about controversies surrounding Henry Ian Cusick, the dialogue in the opening scene of the season five finale, how relevant is Widmore to the larger storyline if Jacob made Ben feel like nothing, and he was our antagonist for the past three seasons, etc. But no, in the latest London interview, they waste five minutes of Damon & Carlton’s time asking about Libby. WTF?
…Not that they would answer any of the topics I listed below. But still. Watch that latest interview. Damon & Carlton look like they want to shoot themselves. And even in the European pane discussion that was posted last week online, fans were asking the dumbest ****…Come on already! There’s like 200 unresolved things, and 17-18 hours left. We can ask better questions of these two writers than that.

@tdunf – no you haven’t missed it. In the last scenarios column Doc posted he said he’d be back with the results beginning July 20th, then he’d be posting sporadically about LOST until season 6 starts.
@IMPEACH OBAMA – Pointless, feckless, and effete…all words that can be used to describe your Less Than Half Termer Gov. Palin. At least I can be confident that Obama won’t quit his job because people are making fun of him!
As for “LOST”–it’s the best show on television. Period.
As long as the anything goes includes a prolonged Sawyer nude scene in HD!
I am anxious about it NOW and its still 6 months til the season starts. It will be hard to top the brilliance of this past season, but I have confidence they will.

I don’t think they were referring to Shannon and Boone as fan favs… more likely Charlie, if anyone. No matter, I can’t wait to see what happens, but I’m sad because it’ll be the end. It’s like awaiting the last Harry Potter book! Bittersweet.

Totally disagree, that cameo was tasteless. My friend was in a head-on collision with a drunk driver last week. Trust me, there is nothing funny about it.
