Just when the recent Sarah Palin media circus — her feud with David Letterman; her spandex-happy photo spread in Runner's World; the recent damning Vanity Fair profile of her — couldn't get any weirder, the former GOP vice-presidential candidate just announced she will resign the governorship of Alaska at the end of the month, two-and-a-half years into her first term. Even the transfer of power to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell won't stop Palin's special brand of surreality: He'll be sworn in at a picnic in Fairbanks on July 25.
The blogosphere is already oscillating between whether Palin's planning a run for president in 2012 or whether she's just written her political epitaph. Me, I'm just wondering whether her next act will be, say, going head-to-head against Rachel Maddow with her talk show Sarah Barracuda on Fox News. Or filling the recent Jon & Kate media blackout vacuum with Sarah & Todd Plus Six on TLC. (For those bothering to count: Track + Willow + Piper + Trig + Bristol + Bristol's son Tripp = six.) While Palin may make for a dubious elected official to some, I think we can all agree the woman makes for — and inspires — some ridiculously entertaining TV. (Below, I've embedded just two examples.)
So tell me, PopWatchers, do you hope to see more of Sarah Palin once she moves out of the governor's mansion, or less?

Less. Much less. Hopefully none.
No way she’s leaving the media spotlight. She wants it too much.

Maybe she’s been hiking the Appalachian Trail too.
I wish it meant seeing less of her, but since she is a walking definition of narcissistic personality disorder I’m sure it means she’ll be picking fights with everybody until she can formally announce she’s running for president.
Um less. DEFINITELY less. Like never again. Please go away for good.
Another nail in the GOP coffin if she is the 2012 nominee. There is a related post at http://iamsoannoyed.com/?p=2048
I find it difficult to understand some of the blogs on here. If we look back a the Republican campaign, she was the bright sopt and had more of a feel for all of the issues that surfaced. She did not interview well with Curic, but please, would all of you ugly women please get off of her case. She can’t help it that she is both smart and HOT. Give it a break – you only show your ignorance
To quit her post shows she hasen’t got what it takes to be in the spotlight. Most people find those who quit to be weak. She really needs to fade away. The media needs to turn it’s back to her. This is not a person I’d be interested in hearing from,or about anymore.Very poor character.
I think she’ll end up on the View as Hasselbeck’s long overdue freplacement. Babs and the other ladies have had enough of a shrill right-wing nut bar and want a more rational, thought provoking person. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
More-Tina Fey, more- Amy Pohler. Less as in none of Sarah Palin. Her fan base are the same bunch got w elected twice. How did that work out?
Don’t let the igloo door hit you on the way out Sarah…my God her speech today was one of the most incomprehensible things I’ve ever heard, especially the basketball analogy. How the hell did ANYBODY believe this dope should be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office?
She can’t help it that she is both smart and HOT.

Actually she’s demonstrated on numerous occasions that she’s dumb as a brick. Did you even see her near-incomprehensible speech today? The woman’s a nut.
So doing your job as well as possible while you’re in office, even though you aren’t going to run for re-election, qualifies as apathetic? Whatever.
I would like to see much, MUCH less of Sarah Palin. It seems like every time she slips out of the spotlight, she does something or reacts to something to get more attention.
Calm down Libs…..you have had a good last couple of weeks, but it will end soon. Enjoy your lame duck president. Robbing the rich to give to the undeserving will blow up in your face soon.
Dear God. This woman cannot seriously think that she’s got a shot at becoming the president.
The most she’s ever been is a national joke.
Less. MUCH less.
I don’t understand why everybody hates her so much. Yeah people may no agree with her policies, but does that have to warrant the nasty, unnecessary, and deragotory remarks that people and media make about her. Regardless if you like her or hate her, no political figure has never been attacked the way that Sarah Palin has. I can’t imagine anybody commenting that Hillary Clinton or Michelle Obama look like “slutty flight attendants” or have their Downe syndrome children be made fun of. I think that people get too carried away when it comes to her. If she felt that all the media attention was interfering and hindering her performance as a governor then she made the right move. People say that she craves the attention, but I beg to differ, who here wouldn’t defend their children if someone made an offensive remark towards them especially on national TV? People, just give it a rest.

Ugly Jenny, FTW. To the haters, if you don’t like her, then don’t pay attention. Use up your energy on something you enjoy.
Oh how I wish she’d announced this on Letterman’s show! But I’m sure he’ll have a field day with this bit of news.
To B, what does FTW stand for?
LESS! But I am not holding my breath. That woman is the master at attention-whoring.
I find it disturbing that she’s not finishing her term as governor. How could she handle the job of President of the United States if she can’t handle/finish her job of running a single state? Her aide complained about how much flak she was getting on ethics inquiries … so what will she do in a higher office with much bigger pressures? Let her go to a talk show. I’m sure she’d get smashing ratings – particularly on FOX News – though I wouldn’t watch.
It is sad the people have to attack Sarah Palin when it is so much easier making fun of the weirdo Michael Jackson who just died to get more attention………
Good for you Sarah Palin. I think you are a special woman. You are true to yourself, your family and this country. It’s obvious that your family comes first in your life, and your country. You are not going to play this game that is government has created. There is so much more behind our government that we (the American people) will never know. Shame on the news media for how people are portrayed. What I see is a beautiful, intelligent, down to earth, business woman, mother and wife who has had enough of what the media and government can do to someome. Don’t let those pompous asses get to you and your family. Best Wishes…from a wife, mother and business woman.
I suspect a scandal is about to break. Perhaps Sanford was actually meeting Palin in Argentina?
When a politician resigns so suddenly that their own spokesperson is THOUSANDS of miles away in another state…something is up. Palin was in Alaska when she hastily gave a somewhat rambling resignation speech, without any real reason given for leaving, while her spokesperson was in New York. Pretty odd. This means that either some major scandal is close to breaking, or someone made her a HUGE offer of money to do something other than be governor. You don’t just quit being governor for nothing, look at the SC governor. He HAS a reason to resign (and some want him to do so) yet he hasn’t. Palin gave no real reason for leaving office, and at present, there doesn’t seem to be one. If she decided to just leave to go back to the “private life,” then she would have had it better planned, organized, and scheduled.
I think we are going to find out the Bristoll is pregnant again.
