I named my cat Azrael after the character from the Smurf’s and thus I nominate him to star in the movie.
Is this movie really necessary? Does anyone remember the Garfield movies? I mean I love me some Zachary Levi, but I would like to keep my respect for him intact.

Paul Reubens (Pee-Wee Herman) would make an awesome Gargamel. I think the movie subject would seem perfect for Tim Burton to direct but it doesn’t appear that he will be at the helm and imagine if they could get Danny Elfman to do a new take on the classic theme song.
I don’t know why, but I immediately think of John Lithgow when I see Gargamel. Always have.

I’d go with Alan RIckman.. but that’s sorta typecasting though, but oh well!
Clearly Danny Devito would be the most appropriate Gargamel both in appearance and in temperament.

I’d have to go with Alan Rickman, but since Snape turns bad it is now kinda hard to picture Alan as Gargamel.
