Just when I was thinking “There is absolutely nothing ugly about that ubiquitous Ugly Truth TV promo, and we would all be lucky to remotely resemble Katherine Heigl in casualwear let alone a slinky black dress,” in rides Katherine Heigl’s series of not quite gorgeous but very realistic ‘O’ faces, as triggered by a delighted, preteen boy. I should clarify: The preteen boy is operating her turbo-charged vibrating briefs, which Heigl’s character has obviously chosen to wear during an important dinner. Don’t get her wrong — she’s not usually such a “sexual deviant.” (Boo!) Heigl’s great at faking it here, though I hope for her sake that she got to make actual use of the prop. Did I really just say that? Check out the NSFW scene below, in a clip from ComingSoon.net (And there’s a really annoying 30-second commercial before the clip begins, but just turn the volume down and use that time to embrace July by thinking about ice cream.)

that was pretty freaking funny.
Oh I definently can’t wait to see this!
I’d say this beats out Meg Ryan by negative a million points. (If only for the button at the end of the scene with Rob Reiner’s mom.)
Sorry, but “When Harry Met Sally” is an all-time classic, while this is just a funny scene in a movie that suddenly doesn’t seem as awful as it did when the first previews came out.
Also, why’d you call the Meg Ryan scene a pie orgasm? I thought they were having sandwiches.
I admit, that was funny lol Sort of like the scene in Wedding Crashers

That was contrived and predictable.
Given how stupid this scene was, I found myself wondering… 1) Was she really wearing black panties under a white dress? 2) When she decided to put the panties on, does that mean she would’ve otherwise gone panty-free? Or was she wearing a double-layer of undies? Anyway, I had previously thought I might go see this movie, but now I’ve changed my mind.
Joules.. If you actually saw the movie you would understand how much of an idiot you just made yourself look like in the movie she HAD white panties on she got bored waiting for her date and put the black ones on. This clip dosent show the whole scene just bit and peices that lead to the dinner… Dumbass
I love Katherine Heigl. Very excited for this flick! SO funny!
Does anyone else think this is the edited version? Seems some shots may have been cut for the full version in the movie. IDK but I loved it.
I say this one is better than Meg Ryan’s because Heigl had to slowly do the orgasm scene and look embarrassed while having co-workers near her. Ryan’s orgasm scene was to prove a fake orgasm can look like a real one. IDK I see more layers in this scene compared to Ryan’s and man did Heigl delivered. I can’t wait.
joules, this is a comedy of anti-realism and exaggerations and not a case for precise reasoning of a Sherlock Holmes. Plausibility and good sense are out of the window here. Orgasm in a restaurant? Never heard of that!
Yay-
I think you’re right about this being edited down, which may have messed with the clip’s continuity.
As to your other point, you make a decent case for this being better than the “When Harry Met Sally” scene.
All I know is that we’re still talking about “When Harry Met Sally” 20 years later. I know it’s still ridiculously early, and the movie may shock us all and prove to be a classic, but do we really think anybody will be talking about “The Ugly Truth” in 20 years. Sorry, but I don’t. I still give Meg the nod. I see this falling more in the amusing scene category, like “The Wedding Crashers” scene Adam mentioned.
The acting was good, the directing terrible, but the couple seems to have chemistry. And they are very nice actors. I hope it can be a sucess just because of Katherine and Gerard.
The Meg Ryan scene was indeed when they were having sandwiches at the deli. The writer appears to be confusing Meg Ryan displaying her “high maintenance” personality when ordering pie during the original cross-country drive with the later deli scene in New York.
The fact that it’s a 9 year old boy giving her the pleasure is .. ridiculously gross. Why couldn’t they have made it like a 19 year old guy? Yuck..
It’s stupid anyway. Those kinds of things are PRETTY easy to ignore in this situation. I’ve yet to meet any woman who would be completely overcome by a type of vibrator that she couldn’t keep her composure in a public setting.
I can’t wait to see this. Katherine Heigl is truly a gifted comedic AND dramatic actress, and she’s gorgeous to boot. Love her.
I think what made Meg Ryan’s scene better was the fact that it was supposed to be fake. Here Heigl is obviously faking but it’s supposed to be real and doesn’t really feel that way in the clip. Plus, the acting is simply worse.
