Megan Fox and Harry Smith: Our new favorite couple

My summer romance with Harry Smith continues! If you missed Megan Fox's chat with him on CBS' The Early Show this morning, you must watch below.

Watch CBS Videos Online

First, Harry establishes that Megan, star of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, is not actually a motorcycle mechanic. Then he admits he went to see the movie in IMAX — "with actual human beings"! — and didn't follow it.

Harry Smith: I'm not sure I understand it all. Are you supposed to literally understand what every scene is or what it means? [Note: This is now my favorite question ever.]

Megan Fox:
I don't know if that's — I mean, I'm in the movie, and I read the script, and I watched the movie, and I still didn't know what was happening. So, I think if you haven't read the script, and you go and you see it and you understand it, you may be a genius…. This is a movie for geniuses.

Suddenly, I'm crushing on Megan Fox as well. But wait. There's more. Harry shows her a clip of the kind words costar Shia LaBeouf said about her when he stopped by the show.

Smith: "Phenomenally gorgeous" and "like kissing a unicorn."

Fox: Hmm. [Looooong well-played silence]

Smith: What do you think that means?

Fox: I think he was trying to say that he thinks I'm special. I think. I think.

Smith: Right. OK. I'm, you know, I'll go with that.

Fox: Thank you. I remind you of a unicorn, also? [CORRECTION: This is now my favorite question ever.]

Smith: I would — I just — I've never…

Fox: What about a woodland nymph fairy?

Smith: Yeah.

Fox: OK. OK.

Is anyone else finding themselves liking Megan Fox against their will? What about Harry Smith?

That was cute. I never saw any of the Transformer movies, nor have I ever seen her anything, but I saw her on Letterman last week and now this and she seems really down to earth and has a great sense of humor.

  • gigi

A week can’t go by without a Meagan Fox mention…EW you are consistant..I’ll give you that!

  • Victoria

liking Megan Fox against my will is exactly how I feel. I am not surrendering yet…

  • Vicky

I know EW is throwing Megan Fox down our throats, but I’ve seen a handful of her interviews and they’ve all been completely entertaining. Watch her interview from Jimmy Kimmel.

  • wtfnyc

Still find Meghan a bit up her own, but I’ll take Harry Smith all day, every day. HARRY 4-EVA!!!

  • Shasta

I totally wanna hate Megan Fox, and I’ve never seen anything she’s been in, but I kinda love her.

  • Jen

Nah, Megan Fox is all right. She’s funny and self-aware, which is a refreshing thing to see considering the idiocy of some of her peers (Lohan, I’m looking at you).

  • Gary Wilcox

Add her to Will Ferrell and John Francis Daley as the list of ‘celebrities I want to play Dungeons & Dragons with’. Heh!

  • Berna

He already had done this with Jennifer Aniston, but at least Fox is more down to earth and funny. She seems a good person and not so dazzled
with Hollywood. I hope she continues that way.

  • krikky

Her voice and inflections sound a little like Natalie Portman. She seems sweet and funny…

The fake interview with Jimmy Fallon and “Zach” from Saved By The Bell might have been the most awesome recent interview, but this is a very close second. Harry was really funny and tried to catch her off guard, but she rolled with it very well. The Woodland Nymph Fairy comment was great, as was Harry’s…umm…almost turned on like a fetish response.

  • KM

Haha. Wow. That was funny. I never had a problem with her, but I kinda assumed she was full of herself like most other actresses her age. That cover story you guys did of her is what first changed my mind about her. She’s refreshingly honest and self-aware. She doesn’t try to BS herself or others. She knows who she is, and doesn’t try to lie about it. And she sounds smart and down to earth.
This interview was pretty dang funny too. She has good comedic timing. That unicorn question-my favorite question also. Good stuff.
    Girl crush officially established.

  • Martha

I like Fox. She doesn’t take herself too seriously, despite all her recent publicity/fawning. She can also make fun of the absurdity of Hollywood without looking incredibly obnoxious and ungrateful. Hope it lasts.

  • JuJuBee

I think its obvious that Harry’s crank was in full swell during the interview. Fox is cool and likeable…I like her very much. I would like to share a grilled cheese sandwich with her one day.

  • Ailene

She has a great sense of humor, which is what keeps me liking her I guess. I’ve tried not to like her, but I can’t! Oh well.

  • Fm

If u liked this interview u gotta see the one with jimmy kimmel
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7f31SeZ_GB0
    this is part 1

  • Mya

I saw that this morning. She is very down to earth and she along with Shia had an awe inspiring connection in the Transformer movie. I loved seeing those two together and I hope they are dating in real life. They compliment each other so well. Jimmy Kimmel did a really entertaining interview with her as well last week.

  • Emma

I always liked Shia and he seems to really love her. I hope they do end up together.

  • bootsycolumbia

Man, I hated that interview that EW did a few issues back. I thought Megan Fox was trying way too hard to come off as edgy and cool and badass. This interview is much better. She seems down to earth and dare I say–likable! I liked the woodland nymph fairy line at the end. That was funny. And Harry Smith can do no wrong.

  • Ben

Enough with Megan Fox. She is pretty, sure, but untalented and not worth the relentless press EW has given her. I can only imagine how much more she’d receive if she were cast in Twilight. Seriously. When did this magazine become Teen Beat?

  • EW

    Can she be anymore boring???

  • beyond good and evil

    No more Megan Fox, please!!!!
There are dozens of Hollywood starlets (and many girls on the street in my city) just as good-looking or better. Her overhyped image is so blatantly calculated to pander to mouth- breathing virgin fanboys. It makes me embarrassed for her, me, and every other punter she’s being media-pimped to. Not half as gorgeous nor clever or special as she or her handlers seem to think. Every time she opens her mouth, she becomes more and more unappealing.PLEASE, less megan fox!!! Let her go back to whatever hick trailer park she emerged from.

  • Fm

Beyond good and evil sure does care about megan fox’s well-for some one who doesnt like her, u wrote a whole essay about her! Lmao…freakin loser…if u dont like all the Fox on EW dont click on the article or read anything on her u could simply ignore it hahaha go waste ur time on something ur passipnate about instead of demanding stupid shittt and hating….EW do what you do, love the mag!

  • Manny

The more interviews I catch with Megan Fox the more I’m concerned for her. And it’s because I actually think she is smart and I don’t like how many of the interviewers recently, like Harry Smith or Letterman, have taken a very sarcastic tone with her. As if she is a bimbo and it’s cute that she speaks her mind and thinks she has something to say. I hope she has a wonderful career and for her sake, because I see her do this in interviews, doesn’t take these people too seriously. Sometimes saying everything you think is not good because your thoughts are the only thing they can’t take from you when you beginning reaching the absurd and invasive levels of fame that she is approaching now. Keep them to yourself, express yourself with your work.

  • Lee

Oh, gag me. I am so sick of this woman already. She couldn’t act worth two cents in the first Transformers – her job was just to look hot, like those models on the cover of car magazines. THAT she does well enough, if you are a hormone-crazed teenage boy.

  • Elena

I swear, I had a cute Kristen Bell flashback with Megan Fox with the “woodland creature” comment. She seems like such a cool kid in this interview; more please. And at least she’s honest about her acting ability and her jobs due to her looks. It’s kind of refreshing. Plus, I have no doubt she’s gonna rock it in “Jennifer’s Body.” Diablo Cody knows what she’s doing, so I’m rooting for Megan Fox to succeed.

  • SHE’S BORING

Every interview I’ve seen with her is boring as hell. She’s not an actress, she’s just eye candy.

  • Jimi

Fox is overrated, big time. She pretends to be whatever will get her to the top. Real legends float to the top. Phonies may get to the top but soon drown.

  • Andrew U

Surprisingly she’s very intelligent and subtle, her replies were full of irony and sarcasm, but none of it too acrid. There was an mild form of mockery conveyed through her tone and facial expression of the superficiality of the interview through the entire thing. Not sure Harry picked up on that, though.

  • astralgirl01

Nto amazing, but didn’t skeeve me out as much as I thought it would. She’s definitely not the brightest, but she was game for the interview….
