'The Bachelorette': Which guy is right for Jillian?

Categories: The Bachelorette

Jillian-bachelorette_l After seven episodes of The Bachelorette: Vancouver Tourism Edition, it’s pretty clear our leading lady, Jillian, is an abysmal judge of character with low (and ever-plummeting) self-esteem.I mean, seriously, when you’re dating a man who spends all your time together performing his “first imaginary single” while failing to straightforwardly reassure you he actually is single, it’s a good sign that (in reality TV-speak) he is “not here for the right reasons.” And while I was psyched to see Jillian give a rose to hot and level-headed Argyle Ed — I respect a guy who values his day job over a 1-in-10 chance at televised love…sue me! — I think it’s clear she’d be better off leaving her romantic fate to a group of blog-reading strangers than to continue making decisions for herself. To that end, let’s get together and decide the woman’s future with a handy PopWatch poll! Ready, set, vote (FOR ED)! (Also: Read Kristen Baldwin’s hilarious episode recap, check out Chris Harrison’s behind-the-scenes blog, and watch the latest installment of The Doll Bachelorette, because you cannot get enough of this sick, addictive series!)

Sorry, hate Wes but had to vote for him as the one “Jilli” should end up with. At this stage and after watching from the beginning he’s the one she truly deserves! There are many who I prefer over him by a country mile……but that’d be for me not for her!
She and Wes would make an ideal couple and none of the rest of the guys deserve to be second-string on her short list. They’re all better than that.
I had much higher hopes for Jillian as the bachelorette. They’ve all been dashed.

I’m beginning to think Jillian is straight-up mentally deficient. Picking Wes over Jake and then Wes over Michael reveals a woman who really does not want to be married as she claims. She’s just looking for a 2-week fling. My prediction is that she will choose Wes but that they’ve already broken up before this season even started airing.

  • MsDaisy

Like she’s going to actually marry any of these clowns anyway…….

  • Jessica

Oh My Gosh, Wes is so lying to her you can tell by his reactions!Everyone loves a charming country boy who can sing, but come on this one takes the cake, I so hope she doesn’t pick him. He may pretend to care for her but he will never make her laugh!

  • Melissa

Sorry, I had to vote for Reid. I love his germaphobia. Ed is my second choice, though. And then Michael. I loved Michael’s family… I’m rooting for him to be the next bachelor!

  • Sandy

I think Jillian has nothing in that pretty little head of hers. It’s been one bad choice after another with her. I can see why she said she is always the dumpee. That’s because she picks the wrong guys to get involved with.

  • Amy

I am in love with Ed! He is extremely attractive, intelligent and sweet. I think he has good intentions and could be the one for Jillian!

Love is Blind. Jillian you need to apply your business sense to your relationships. Women out there set themselves up every day for failure and the men take advantage of the fact that we often listen to our hearts instead of our heads. If you want to be a doormat thats fine, if not then wake up and smell the stink before you get your heart broken. There are no fairytales out there and if you stop looking for one then maybe you’ll find love. I hate to say it but nice guys do finish last. Women would have told Jillian about Wes immediatly and she would have listened. Instead a nice honorable guy steps forward to do the right thing and gets slammed for it. FORGET the guy code men if you stepped up more often women might actually believe you’re sincere. There used to be honorable men out there what happened to them? I think women have done it to themselves by putting up with this behavior. If we change maybe they will to. Stop sleeping with them and you’ll get to see who they are!

After seeing Michael with his family…I Love him. Sure he is a bit goofy and I am not sure a break dance instructor could support a family, but he is so down to earth, such a gentleman. If Jake can not be the next bachelor then I vote for Michael. Maybe even the first ever Twin bachelors!!

  • Mike

First off, I totally want Michael to myself. Secondly, I would take Ed too. Thirdly, I think Ed is the perfect choice for Jillian and I’m pretty confident that they’ll end up together in the end. She just glows whenever he’s around!

  • Pam

Jake – One of the only ones with the guts to stand up for whats right. I was wondering if anyone cared enough about Jillian to tell her the truth.
Wes – Seems like Jillian is drawn to his type and then she wonders why she always gets hurt. The cycle will continue. I wish she would wake up and see that she deserves a nice guy!!

  • N

I live in Chicago and word on the street is that Ed has a girlfriend here in Chi-town.. I hope its not true, but I’m sure it is.

  • Jenny

Can’t believe she continues to believe Wes. He’s such a slime-ball. I must say that Kiptyn, Ed, and Reid would be better off doing the same thing that Jake did: telling her what’s what. But even that probably wouldn’t open her eyes. I’m so dissapointed in her–I had higher hopes…

  • Sherri T

She says she is a good judge of character but she couldn’t see Wes was lying he kept clearing his throat, he coldn’t look at her and he got mad at her for asking. You wouldn’t mind answwering that question a million times if you truly cared about the person. I just wanted to slap her when she picked Wes yet again.

getting real man on tv – get a life – real men are found in the grocery store

  • Alice

I wasn’t going to watch after she let Jake go, but how could I pass up a chance to see him stand up to Snake (Wes). I thought poor Jilli didn’t think she was good enough for Jake. After her immature reaction on last nights episode, I agree with her. SHE’S NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR JAKE! I hope he will be the next bachelor and I hope Wes’s CD is a big flop. He’s so creepy.

  • Mike

The only decision that matters is the final one. So, it doesn’t bother me that Wes is still around because it’s good TV. I really think Jillian is smarter than some people give her credit for. I think she’ll make the right decision.

  • Sue

Come on!!!!! How could she choose Wes? You gotta be kidding me. She chose that jerk over Jesse? Now I know she is whacked.

If Jillian was here for LOVE, and a stable family life, obviously, it would be JAKE. Jake has great family-values.
ED has not talked about his family.
ED has no LIFE, he only works, and then goes to a bar to drink beer. No thoughts of family-values on his mind.
Jillian is caught up in the glamour of the dresses, the jewellery, and the posh life-style bestowed on her.
I live in her little neighbourhood of Yaletown in Vancouver. Our weather has been fabulous for the past 2 months – she can come HOME, and that fresh salt-air may revive her senses! She may once again, become that adorable, witty West Coast Girl that she once was.
May the UNIVERSE, once again, bring JAKE come back into her LIFE. Only JAKE can offer Jillian the life she so desires.
JILLIAN needs a Dog – she may learn the most important lesson in LIFE which seems to be something that has eluded HER. Dogs give unconditional LOVE (just what Jake has offered).
Our CANADIAN Goddess is falling from Grace.

My wife and I have watched the Bachelor and Bachelorette since day one. Last night was the first time we thought about not watching this foolishness anymore. Stupidity knows no border, it’s hit Canadian women too. Jillian has refered to Jake as being too perfect, a sincere gentleman. Spot on. Then why not trust him too when he warned her of Larel ( Wes’s squeeze). She’s an idiot. This Jillian is not the same woman we all saw with Jason last season. That Jillian was smart, guarded, grounded and had it going on. Fame and all these suitors have caused her to lose her sharp mind. My wife explained to me the attraction to bad boys, I get it, but it’s so Junior High and this woman is what 31 ? Wake up Jillian, take your head out of the snow. Wes is a dirtbag and I wouldn’t think any women is going to buy his new CD after his performance on the show. By the way, I am a nice guy that did not finish last, hang in there Jake, you deserve better!

Our CANADIAN Goddess is falling from Grace. Her only redemption to finding stability & and ‘good life’ is with JAKE.
A ‘good life’ is what she started out dreaming about before the lights, glitz, glamour stole her ’soul’.
Hopefully, its not too late…. for JAKE – he may already have signed a ‘contract’ for the next BACHELOR.
I’m Jillian’s YALETOWN neighbour. We live in a city of metrosexual Men — no commitment (take out the Texan in Wes, and you know what I mean).
Good luck girl. May you come back to your ’senses’ of what is a ‘good man’

Must read for all the gullible folk from Reality Steve today – http://realitysteve.com/blog/2009/06/30/a-very-important-bachelorette-5-recap-62909/

  • LB

Oh please – Reality Steve is so full of it this season. He has no credibility as he has been stealing rumors off of message boards this season. Ed would have absolutely no reason to go back on this show if he actually had a girlfriend. The guy has an awesome career, isn’t an actor, and clearly doesn’t like to take time off work if he doesn’t have to. If you can find me a motivation for him to do this, I may change my mind but as of right now, not buying it!

  • Melissa

I was so mad at last nights episode I could scream (June 29)If she picks Wes she will be hurt the rest of her life. UNBELIEVEABLE! to let Jake just walk out is one of the worst mistakes she could have made.

  • Maria

I think Ed is the one for Jillian, they seem to have that connection.

I am so disgusted with this show I only read the recaps- I can’t even bring myself to watch it. It’s going to serve her right to keep Wes here until the end, he gets his 15 minutes and a record deal and then tells her “I’m just not that into you. Oh- by the way- meet my open-minded wife Laurel.”

  • Maggie

I voted for Ed because I love him! However I kinda have to agree that she should end up picking Wes. If she is stupid enough to keep him around she deserves to have her heart broken at the end. I loved her at the beginning, but she’s turning out to be insecure and shallow in her choices!

  • Carmen

First of all I was physically sick when Jake wasn’t chosen. Wes is, in my opinion greasy, not attractive and a total player. I understand the “bad boy” thing, but come on here- He is a jerk- especially to Jillian- can’t she see the hometown boy look in Jake’s eyes. They interact so wonderfully together and his smile- Whoo! Gorgeous with brains, money and a sweet loving heart for her. She is just too blind to see it. Sad- I’ll be more than happy to “settle” for JAKE…!

  • Peggy Sue

Hi Michael! I was hoping the top 3 would be Kyptin, Ed and Jesse. That would be a really tough choice. Jillian will pick Ed because he has come back, thus proving to her that he really cares for her. She needs that reassurance-she IS more insecure than we thought. It’s endearing to have her admit that (most of us can relate to it)but we can see how that plays into her decisions negatively.// I hated when Wes went on the attack with Jake, it was so cruel and gross – that should have turned Jillian off right away. Then he kind of “dared” Jillian to turn him away right then and there, going on the offense – she fell for it. Jillian said Wes was the one she could most see fitting in with her family. that is the most perplexing comment- exactly what part of him fits in with her family?Music? Nothing of value to say? Lying? Selfishness? I only hope the guys who lose (Michael, Jesse) have girls lining up outside their doors to meet them! (Reid is the worst pick of all-what is he doing there?)
