Every time I read or hear negative remarks about Adam Lambert I am reminded of a Beatles documentary in which various Americans were asked what they thought about the British invasion...subsequently few thought these long haired lads would last...
Adam, prepare yourself for the last laugh!

Top 13 week "Redux" was a delight. I wasn't worried about who might go home, or about whether a favorite would mis-step. I loved them all a little bit more this second time around - though I was surprised I didn't like Kris that much. His Man in the Mirror was a tough act to follow. And it was very bitter-sweet watching Alexis; Knowing she would be going home much too soon.
It was interesting to hear Kris and Adam's reaction (horror) when they watched their top 13 performances during a recent interview - and compared to the finale they were both a bit rough. They have both grown so much and that's the beauty of it.

This year the judges were VERY harsh - and polarized in their support of some contestants (Adam/Danny/Lil). That made it easy to be angry with those contestants personally.
I'll admit I hated Danny with a fiery passion - not because of his pitch or communication problems - but because he garnered so much attention/praise from the judges while Kris and Alison were repeatedly ground into the dust. So I understand how people felt about Adam. But it wasn't his fault.
Some contestants have better voices. Some can speak more clearly and are more likable. Some are better looking. Some are 17 some are 29 (Danny). And they all arrived with different pre-idol music experiences. But as long as they're under 30 and don't have a current contract - it's all FAIR.
David Cook went to college on a THEATER scholarship and then spent 2 years in Tulsa focusing solely on his music (performing/recording/doing gigs). Yes the older kids have an advantage but all is fair in war & Idol. -Go Allison!

Response to Rocketman: I can accept criticisms of Adam Lambert when people say they just don't like his style of music. But to criticise him by saying he's not the same person off AI that he was during the show is absolutely ridiculous. As a mother of 3 teenagers, I have often thought of Adam's great parenting when watching his respectful manner on the show. I have followed him religiously since the show ended and haven't seen any behavior from him that would disappoint me as a mother. Maybe you have other issues with Adam that you're not addressing...

Honestly, I never payed attention to anyone other than Anoop during the competition, and after he got voted off, I payed attention to Kris. Watching the re-run made me realize how good of a performance Michael, Alexis, Danny, Allison and many others gave. I'm very surprised.

Props to Kelly..she made AI what it is today without her sucess AI would be a shadow of itself if even still on the air. Why are ratings down? Kelly was the template for this success ..young (20)..relatively inexperienced in show biz with a sincere and authentic personality..with raw talent that would be allowed to grow while on the show. Fast forward to season 8 ..another season of planted show biz vets pimped by the PTB . Now all you Glamberts yes Adam is talented but a far cry from what America looks for on AI .. 27..same age as Kelly NOW...at least 10 years of semi to professional experience ..already a polished performer without the joy of us watching him grow and ..as surmised by pre-AI internet searches and confirmed by the Rolling Stone interview..the Adam you saw on AI is not the same Adam away from AI..not sincere at all and viewers were catching on. AI was good for Adam but I fear he was not good for AI in the long range. AI back to basics or watch the ratings sink more.

sandman: Did you not hear Simon tell Adam he was too "theatrical" on finale night? Did you not hear Simon tell Adam that his rendition of "Ring of Fire" was "indulgent rubbish" & "horrific"? Did you not hear Randy say Adam's rendition of "No Boundaries" was "PITCHY" on finale night? What do you mean "no criticism"? At the very beginning, Kara told Adam that his song did not "connect" to her. How much more criticism do you want? Could it be that Adam listened to the criticism & then applied it to his performance so he wouldn't DRAW more criticism from the judges? Adam DESERVED ALL the PRAISE he got from the judges!!!!! And watching the re-run YES he was by far SUPERIOR to the rest of the contestants followed closely by ALLISON!!!
