No, I’m not talking about some sort of epic Gandalf-Saruman-esque showdown (as awesome as it would be to watch Merlin fight himself). Read the full post.

How can you love Sam Neill’s Merlin without knowing how to spell the actor’s last name? (It’s two Ls, folks.) Also, you EW.com editors really need to police these comment threads for commercial spammers.
I’ll add my name to the list of people who prefer Nicol Williamson’s Merlin. “Excalibur” is what got me hooked on Arthurian legend in the first place. I don’t think anyone will top Williamson’s performance.
I ended up watching two eps and actually liked it. Yes it’s a cross between Smallville and Xena (seriously) with a dash of Buffy even, but comparing this series to the mini series with Sam Neill is like comapring Buffy the Series to Buffy the movie…same charecter, different versions.
Joan is right. This headline is an apostrophe catastrophe. http://www.apostrophecatastrophes.com
Can’t really choose between them
i love both the Merlins
Colin as the clumsy, adorable teenage Merlin
and Sam Neill as the powerful adult one
both are amazing
