Last night I was walking through Times Square and found myself stuck in a scrum of people who were no longer moving. That's because everyone had stopped to stare at the giant screen above which was slowly scrolling through a montage of Michael Jackson photos. He seemed to be on everyone's mind last night in New York, and it seemed like every other car that drove past was blaring "Man in the Mirror" or "Billie Jean." I confess I haven't really thought much about Jackson or his music in recent years. But today I was scrolling through our gallery of his milestones, and then Life.com's gallery of his life and times (from which we grabbed the image at left) and realized I remembered almost all the moments (the good, the bad, and alas, the really ugly). How many of those moments do you remember? And what, if anything, have you done to pay tribute since hearing of Jackson's death? Drive around with "Billie Jean"? Buy up all his albums? Share with your fellow readers in the comments section below.

Spent about an hour last night watching his videos on YouTube. A sad end to a sad but talented life.
I jammed out to “Will You Be There”
In Atlanta tonight, there will be a Thriller dance-off at Underground. http://www.11alive.com will broadcast live from the event.
I talk to my mom she told me when our family got our first VCR, my parents bought the making of Thriller. I would try to dance like him on the kitchen floor in socks and a glove.
I watched his vids on Vh1 for about two and a half hours nonstop. Not joking.
I “Beat it”.
I took a dump.
I took a dump.
Introduced my kids to his music yesterday by showing them “Thriller.” They absolutely loved it. Hence, a new generation of fans has been born.
Sobbed uncontrollably when I got to my car after work yesterday and realized that despite ALWAYS having Michael in my car or my cd player, I had somehow left all of his albums at home. Posted my thoughts to my livejournal once I got home. Blasted “Will You Be There” on my way in this morning.
I desperately wished to be white, diddled several young boys, continued to be musically irrelevant and personally whacked out, confirmed my unearthly asexual creepiness, all the while convincing an all-too-moronic media that I was a significant cultural phenomenon. But I still respect you Michael, no really!!
I sang his songs and danced to his music. I felt like kid again! Who here had a zipper jacket? I had one!
Just realized I was a total homo-loser and hanged myself. Michael, I coming up to be with you! Will you be my boyfriend?! Oh, Michael, ahhhhhh…
Yes, I’m 100% certified gay, I admit it. So beat me – yes, please do!!
A group of us took shots and toasted to Michael on every one while we blasted all of his many hits throughout the years in the background, dancing and singing, having fun while getting depressed and then having fun again. Regardless of what he may or may not have done later on in his life, no one will ever be able to take away his legacy in music. Show some respect people, seriously.
