Hardee's disgusting Biscuit Holes ad: Beat this, Burger King!

Yesterday, Burger King stunned us all with its overtly phallic advertisement for its new Super Seven Incher sandwich. And just when you thought the bar was set too high (or low?) for any other fast food chain to hurl itself over the top, Hardee's strikes back with this:

Yes, you heard/saw right: The trash food chain is now shilling Biscuit Holes. Or, as the people in the spot renamed the new product at the behest of an annoying host: "creamy sweet holes," "hole munchers," and "dingle balls," among many other names. Because, as the ad says, "They sound wrong. But taste so right." That's seriously doubtful. Am I really supposed to be enticed to buy Biscuit Holes simply because they have a disgusting name? Honestly, I found yesterday's Burger King ad revolting in, as I said yesterday, an "I-love-trash kind of way." Maybe it's just that I've now hit my boiling point with such rubbish, but I'm over finding delight in garbage like this.

What do you think? Are Hardee's Biscuit Holes disgusting — or hilarious? Has advertising hit a new low?

That commercial is no worse then the Quisno’s toaster oven seducing Scott.

Um, what’s a Hardees? I’m from the midwest.

NO Class! They would sell their soul (if they have one) for the almighty dollar.

I think it’s a stupid commercial but at least it isn’t about women’s breast or other parts of a woman’s anatomy. It’s nice to see advertisers degrade men now like the new Burger King ad.

Well, they could have taken a clue from South Park Chef’s Chocolate Salty Balls and named them Sugary Sweet Balls. But, they look like Donut Holes and nobody has had an issue with that name. Biscuit Holes is fine…it’s just the ad and the tagline that are in bad taste.

dan, I think Hardee’s is the sister to Carl’s

This is one of those ads that has everybody talking about the ad, but nobody buys the product. Really- are you going to put anything in your mouth they actually suggest be called biscuitcles? (I don’t even know how to go about spelling that!)

  • @Maureen

Degrading men? What? If those names are degrading, about half of them are equally degrading to women (“Creamy sweet holes”? “Melting holes”?). I truly don’t understand this trend — make your product completely unappealing for the sake of “edginess”.

How about Schweaty Balls? Have Alec Baldwin pitch them.

Actually, I thought it was genuinely funny (not like all those lame “trying-to-be-funny-and-edgy” Super Bowl commercials each year). Hardee’s is breaking a lot of “rules” which is nice to see with all the stale, corporate junk we see these days. Way to have some real balls. Bravo!

i agree, the quizno’s oven says “you know we both enjoyed that scott” about sticking his rag in him and cleaning him out. that’s gross, this commercial is hilarious! horny old and ugly people talking dirty. oh but everything in America is about preserving the children “THINK OF THE CHILDREN! THE POOR INNOCENT CHILDREN!” it’s always those parents whose kids are smoking crack and banging the 45yo man next door that are puritans. give me a break. open your mouth wide and swallow some biscuit holes!

OH NO!!! NOT VULGAR ADVERTISING GRRR THAT MAKES MY BLOOD BOIL WHATEVER WILL WE DO
    RARRRR
Ahh, no, I’m kidding. Everyone upset by stuff like this sort of depresses me. It genuinely makes me sad that people get riled up over ‘revolting’ advertising instead of, say, things that actually matter.

  • Todd

I love this commercial. I loved the ultra-phallic advertising from Burger King. I never understood the “GRRRR VULGAR ADVERTISING IS DESTROYING AMERICA” attitude that a lot of people have adopted of late, mostly stemming from that Paris Hilton advert a long time ago.
It’s just a depressing waste of time to actually be enraged every time something you find tasteless is on TV. It’s like getting mad at a politician for lying.

maybe these ads will get people to stop eating fast food and reverse the obesity trend. Then again people love their McDs so that will never happen. keep getting fat america!
