OK, so I will admit that I was stunned enough by this last episode to write a post…something I have never done on any site before. Chris, love the blog and you are one funny guy. Although I could see Jilli’s chemistry with Jake fading after the first date, I was still stunned when she sent him home. I definitely want to see him as the next Bachelor! He is who I would have picked in the end for sure. As for next weeks teasers, I truly admire his integrity for going back to let Jilli know about Wes before she gets more involved w/him. Definitely raised him from a 9 1/2 to a 10 in my eyes…even without Mango-Mango.
As for Wes, his total lack of personal integrity is quite appalling. Maybe in the future ABC could let the Bachelorette have a couple minutes at the end of the week viewing a recap of what has been going on in the house or between the guys to help her make her decision? If it were me, I would want to know how my future spouse treats others BEFORE I chose them.
Finally, an answer to my question, why in heck doesn’t ABC show her some of the clips of Wes when he’s not with her? The show NEVER does that? Don’t you think an exception is in order for this bachelorette? It’s true she’s responsible for her own sorting process but you can see how she’s all got that Canada romance for the country cowbody life. That’s the kind of music she likes. So he’s just walking all over her heart without even trying. I kind of glad Tanner went home but too bad he has to learn from the show what her reservations were. For all her high standards of wanting communication, she’s not delivering truth herself. Jake didn’t know. Tanner didn’t know. Maybe we all knew but we are just vouyers, right? ABC should be showing Jillian some film this time.
I love this blog, Chris ! Thanks for throwing it up so quickly, too.
I just wanted to answer something you said in your column last week. You were wondering who it was that Reid reminded you of. Could it be the actor, Kurt Russell ? I know that the very same thing was driving me crazy, too; I just couldn’t place what actor Reid looked like. Anyways, there you go.
Keep the blogs coming ! Love your sense of humour and the background info.
Jake, Jake, Jake for the next Bachelor!!!!!!!!! He is perfect! Have a genuinely nice person on for once and see if it changes the Bachelor’s horrible track record. As for Jillian, if she ends up with one of these five, there is no hope for a real future- chalk up another quick breakup after the show is done airing.
Jake for the next Bachelor!! Jake is such a gentleman.
Loved your comments Chris. I’m thinking this season would have been the perfect time to “plant” a friend or relative of Jillian’s in with the guys so she would have someone who could report back to her. It’s been done in the past on the show and it would have made sense… at least then she’d know about weasel wes before he could be in episode 2, let alone 6! I seem to be in the minority here, but Jake was so not a favorite of mine. When Jillian described him as “perfect” I think to be fair to him, Chris used a better word… intense. The guy was always on, not able to relax and I would want that in a pilot, but not in a boyfriend/husband. To each his own, however; yet, I found it very telling that in his exiting piece he said “this always happens” to him. That’s a red flag for me and I don’t his personality would hold my interest if he were the next bachelor. I’m surprised Michael is still there and I’m even wondering if he’s the one in the tease in the hotel room next week?
I really like Jillian, but I think she is not confident person, that’s why she is looking for not perfect guy. Yes, she is smart, beautiful but i don’t think she has high self esteem.
I am very sorry for Jake
I’m going to miss Tanner. He was fun.
I like Michael personality, but i don’t think he will make to the finale. He is young and not stable.
In my opinion, Kypton is the only one who deserves Jillian’s heart.
Reid – no no no…he has to go as soon as possible… He is not marriage material.
Next season…The Bachelor ‘Come Fly With Me’. Jake Jake Jake! (since Ed can’t get time off work) Chris, could you guys do two Bachelors next season? Jake for the first hour – then a ‘late night/after hours’ segment with Tanner. (bare feet and lots of bleeps!)
JAKE FOR THE NEXT BACHELOR FOR SURE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Chris, if there are 3 dates a week (especially in LA), what happens the other 4 days a week? The guys say they only get to spend time with her on their dates, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a date every night…
Question – Do the producers ever look at the various message boards and see who the people actually like? There is a post on the abc board that says Kipton is the next Bachelor – please say it isn’t so! The boards are overwhelmingly in favor of Jake before Kipton. You guys may find him boring, but I think most American women find him extremely hot and more importantly, a genuine nice guy. I won’t mind the next bachelor being a completely new person who hasn’t been on the show before, but if it is someone from this season, please let it be Jake and not Kipton!!!
Fun read, Chris. I am hoping Ed makes a surprise return; he just seemed like the best fit for Jillian. I thought Reid was cute tonight, and I’m on his side about washing vegetable. I don’t think I’m quite as OC as he is, but I do think about other people handing the food at the market. Ewww… the raw meat in the hot oil doesn’t bother me though. Go Ed, go find Jillian and sweep her off her feet!
Chris, you and the producers have absolutely no integrity. Telling Jillian about Wes was not about “not telling the Bachelorette was goes on behind her back.” This is about your responsibility to choose SINGLE men as contestants on the show. What’s going to happen next season? Are you going to include married men in the group? How about a few polygamists?
Once you heard that one of the men had a girlfriend it was the responsibility of the producers to ID him and tell Jillian because men with girlfriends violate the premise of the show. Why didn’t the producers do background checks on these guys to verify that they were single?
I’ve noticed that this show really enjoys humiliating the women who participate, whether they are the chooser or chosen. You GUYS producing this show really need to think about how women on this program are treated.
I was hoping you fellas would clean up your act this season.
Wes is gross! He’s getting publicity, alright. But it’s negative publicity, Wes! You’ll probably sell fewer CDs than you would have had you NOT gone on the show!
Jake for the next bachelor, please!! Why not have a “perfect” bachelor?
And Chris, I think one thing that’s sabotaging the couples and causing them not to survive after the show is that “fantasy suite” thing. It’s probably hurting more than helping, seeing as these people haven’t known each other more than a month or two. It’s way too early in these relationships for that kind of thing, and therefore I think it messes things up. Have you considered that one reason Trista and Ryan survived is because they didn’t have the “fantasy suite” back then (according to family members)?
You guys should consider dumping the “fantasy suite” concept. Too much too soon, too damaging.
Oh Jillian…you poor sweet hot dog loving girl…how could you let the best guy in bachelor history go…only to keep alllll those losers!?! You deserve ‘em honey. Jake…hope to see you on the next bachelor…where do I sign up???
