Johnny Depp + red hair + gap in teeth = Madonna!
How does Johnny Depp manage to look sexy even when he’s made up like some kind of nightmarish lunatic?
WOW! Whoever said that the Mad Hatter looks like Elijah Woods is soooo right! I didn’t even see that at first!
And is it really ten years after the original Alice stories? I had no idea – where’d ya read that?
I am sorry, Tib Burton needs to cut the “How creepy can I make everyone look” routine and actually go back to caring about PLOTS.
Also, TimBurton has a style, what the hell is with all the hating? He likes to make creepy-looking films. Shut up and don’t watch them if you don’t like creepy-looking films. How is he becoming a “parody” of himself? I hate haters. Also I hate people who like to say things they think sound clever, but have no real basis. What has he done to parody anything else that he has done? Shut up, go watch a romantic comedy.
The Tim Burton Exhibit in New York along with the new movie Alice in Wonderland will make 2010 a great year for all things Burton.

Looks pretty awesome!

It looks pretty freakin’ awesome. All Burton films are going to have that Tim Burton vibe – he can’t help it and I happen to like it. Alice doesn’t give off a Charlie/Factory vibe, though. Maybe if you combine Charlie with some Corpse Bride and a dash of Edward Scissorhands…
I didn’t like Charlie and the Cheesecake Factory, but this looks like it could be good.
ok um ur weird if ur trying 2 b funny about the charlie and the cheesecake thin its not workin 4 ya
I think it looks incredible, and really, if you think about the original story by Lewis Carroll, it was pretty freaky. I can’t wait to see Tim Burton’s take on Alice.
I’m having nightmares already just looking at these pictures. *shudder*
The photos are stunning. So vibrant.
People on this board complain about the Burton’s point of view as being too dark for this movie, but if you have read the book, the story is truly dark and creepy.
I agree with previous posters. Are you SURE the Mad Hatter is Johnny Depp and not Elijah Wood? As for the movie in general, the LOOK is great — I expect Oscar noms for costumes, makeup, art direction, etc — but can Burton make the plot fresh and interesting?
Midnight showing. End of story!
The last time I saw any of these actors they were playing really depressive roles. Depp’s and Bonham Carter’s makeup in Sweeny Todd was balck, gray, and white. Hathaway was all grungy in Rachel Getting Married. just awesome!!!! I trust Tim Burton with one of my favorite tales.
