'Zombieland' trailer: Who knew Woody Harrelson killin' zombies would be so much fun?

Everywhere you turn these days, there's a zombie: in Jane Austen, in Harvard lectures, in excellent comic books, and awesomely horrible movies. Undead is the new black. But with the exception of the phenomenal Shaun of the Dead, zombies aren't usually played for laughs. And then comes the trailer for Zombieland.

I don't know if this movie's gonna be any good, or if it's gonna stink like a shambler left out in the sun. But it's got attitude, a sense of humor, and Woody Harrelson, looking like he's having he time of his life.

Whaddya think, P-Diddlies? Are you totally zombied out, or is this flick one for the to-do list?

I think this has the potential to be a nice American companion piece to “Shaun of the Dead”. Looks fun!

It looks cool and if Abigail Breslin is in it, it must be good.
But why the obsession with zombies and vampires?

  • Winston Mize

It actually looks kinda cool…i would go see this….no i will go see it

  • V

HAHAHAH, that totally looks funny! and yeah, totally looks like the american version of Shaun of the Dead….but hey, i’m always up for mindless entertainment!

Looks great! Also a funny zombie movie: Fido. Let’s not forget that one! Hilarious. And that one came out after Shaun of the Dead.

@Berna: you took the words out of my fingers! I was thinking the same thing, I wish we could move beyond zombies and vampires on cinema; cops, lawyers, doctors on tv.
Having said that, I will see this ’cause it looks fun. And what’s with that weird boy with curly hair and movies ending in “land” first adventureland now zombieland?

  • Lola Lopez

That looks like a lot of fun! I’m stoked!

I cracked up with the piano bit. Loved the narrator. Sounded a bit like Patrick Stewart. Woody does look like he’s having the time of his life.
    I’ll see it.

I watched this without sound and it was still hilarious. IN.

  • rebecca

Another zombie comedy I think is pretty good is ‘Undead’. It’s a low budget film out of Australia.

And if you haven’t downloaded and played “Plants vs. Zombies” (I think it’s PopCap that makes it), you’re missing out. My family has been addicted to this thing for the past two weeks, with the haunting theme in your head 24/7.

    ummm, i’ll pass

  • Mia

They filmed this in Atlanta and I tried to get down there to be a extra but didn’t make it in time :( ((

Favorite line – “Does anyone want Purell?” HA HA HA

  • Leontheafrican

This movie is huge BS, it pretends to be funny while it looks heavy like a poclain.
hollywood is going down and down

  • maskedavenger

    SSShhhhhaaaaauuuuuunnnnn!!!!!!!!!

  • jill

    what about fido!

  • billythejoat

I personally don’t like Woody Harrelson either for his activist bent and how he inflicts it on others (Golden Gate bridge) or the attitude he portrays when he acts (one style with a take it or leave it feel). So if he’s in a movie, I always just skip it. But this trailer looks so fun, it may be able to rise above and beyond him. I hope so. The concept is great!

  • futuredirect

I want to go to there. And yes, Fido was awesome too!

  • futuredirect

I want to go to there. (Fido was awesome!)

  • Dash

Yay, more FAST zombies. Why can’t they be slow and creepy like the old Night of the Living Dead series? Otherwise the movie looks funny.

  • mmm… brains

It’s about time that Woody gets in on the zombie killing fun.
For zombie and horror fans, there is an online project with some big names in horror that are putting together a truly independent zombie movie:

I am so in for this, great cast too. It’s good to see Woody back in a supermarket again, brings back some fond Natural Born Killer memories!

  • Jack

This looks really stupid, but really funny.

  • hello

this looks unbelievably hillarious. i’m stoked! the idea of abigail breslin killing zombies is brilliant! so funny!

  • tyler

i will definitely 8 dollars to go and see this movie… the real question is if it will be the best zombie parody since shawn of the dead….

  • al rotiundo

you’re forgetting ZOMBIE STRIPPERS with Robert Englund and Jenna Jameson = Hilarious!
