OK, my friends & I are totally convinced that 3 of the “bachelors” are gay this year. Please explain why Brad, Juan, & Tanner P keep setting off the Level 5 Gaydar! We wouldn’t have been the least surprised to find Tanner sucking on Juan’s toes in the hot tub while Juan showed Brad how to kiss like a real man. Seriously. So my question is this… Chris, in all the seasons, have you ever suspected that any of the participants were actually gay & just trying to get on TV??? And will there EVER be a gay Bachelor season? I think the women of America would be all over that like jimmys on a sugar cone!
This bachlor should have a glass of Roberto Cavalli Vodka like Joel Madden did at the Ari Soffer Grand Launch last week. He would at least seem much more hip.

HELP!! I tivo’d June 15 (season 5-episode 5) but we had tornadoes and storms all over Kansas so they didn’t even show ONE SECOND of this episode in that 2 hour time span! I am FREAKED OUT about it. I tried for several hours to find somewhere on the internet to watch it but either the last one was episode 4 or I had to download junk to watch it (supposedly) but once I downloaded the stuff it still didn’t allow me to watch it!!! Where can I see this episode???? Thanks!
As much as I am saddened with Ed’s departure, I think it’s going to give advantage for him to be coming back to the show for the next upcoming weeks. I,myself isnt necessarily think that Ed is perfect for Jillian, I mean, in the prior episodes, there has been not much moments between Jillian and Ed, they’ve had 1-1 date and that’s about it. I would really love for Jillian to end up with either Kiptyn or Reid, because they’ve been consistently in the right track with Jillian, in terms of developing great moments with her. But IF Ed really comes back the next upcoming episodes, its not going be great for Kiptyn or Reid (If both of them still make it aswell)..
Anyway, Chris, good job with the blog.! And No I dont believe any of these guys are untrained actors! theyre real.
Pamela, in regards to your comment about 3 possible gaydars. I wondered that about a few myself! Especially Juan!!!
Chris, some of us think it would be cool to do a bachelor or bachelorette with the older citizens of the world… say 40′s or 50′s- at least once? They need love too!! or… maybe you could have a celebrity bachelor/ette show. There are plenty of celebrities out there who are not married – or haven’t had time to find their significant other! (Just don’t let anyone know that it’s a celebrity until they pull up in the limo to meet them- that way you at least know the contestants are interested in finding love (the celebrity would just be an added bonus?).
Chris…
We are a radio station in Grand Rapids, Michigan. (yes…where Molly is FROM!) We got the opportunity to talk with Juan yesterday. He said that at the end of last week (after the show) he and Dave did get a chance to “make up”. Our listeners are glad they are both gone! Would love to chat with you sometime too, if possible! Keep up the great work! Tommy and Brook STAR 105.7 Grand Rapids, Michigan.
I am still not entirely convinced that reality shows aren’t scripted & edited to boost ratings. It’s a business for crying out loud and if your show does not pull in enough viewers then ABC WILL send you packing and replace you with something much more entertaining and appealing to their audience.
With that being said, I think Tanner made up the whole thing about some of the guys having girlfriends. Did you see how he sweated like a hog when Dave was pressing Jillian to expose the rat? I was ROTFL…too funny. I hope the speculations about Ed returning aren’t true. Even though I liked him, it wouldn’t be fair to the other competitors who rode it out and got cut.
As for next week, I HOPE it’s just an edited portion to reel in viewership because that “situation” is not only personal but would also be in bad taste to embarrass the person like that. BTW, why is Jillian sleeping with them so soon? Why is she sharing info about lack of performance with the producers?
Now things are getting good! Felt the show got off to a slow start!
First, I love Jillian, but was it just me, or was she pleasantly drunk in all of last night’s footage? Her being all over everyone, and being insecure with all the compliments and interest the guys showed made me feel uncomfortable. I know we all have insecurities, but we are looking up to Jilli and don’t really need to know this!
Wes – my gut tells me she knows who he really is, but she does appear to reallly like him…let’s hope Tanner fesses up soon; he either has to go all the way with names, or say nothing from the start!
As always Chris, great blog and glad to hear you love Whistler!
I thought the teaser was for future shows – they mentioned the fantasy suite…seemed like it might not be just next week. Also – yes, I think it would be a great idea to bring in a plant like a male friend of Jillian’s or brother, or something to get the scoop on what is going on!
Chris, when can we see an African-American/Hispanic/Asian Bachelor or Bachelorette? There are tons of worthy individuals who could fill this spot. In an age where our president is black, I think your show can afford to extend this opportunity to competitors of other races. If it is too big a step at first, you can start with putting a few in the bunch competiting for the bachelor/bachelorette’s final rose. I was a little put off that off all the 30 men this season, not one represented a different race. “Variety is the spice of life.”
Hey Chris,
Love your blog! How about Jake as the next bachelor? He seems like such a great guy and he has already been written off as “perfect”?! What is that about? It’s very rare to meet a guy like him! I take back what I said about him being the next bachelor. Let’s just save some time and give him my email address!
I think most of these guys are a bunch of duds. I hope she can sort out a couple of good possibilities. My question is about the rose ceremony. Once she decides who she is going to send home, who decides what order she should give the roses to the ones who are staying?
I hate all the dates. Who sits around talking about relationships the whole time?? Let’s talk about real world stuff, daily stuff. Like, how do you like your coffee. What’s on your Tivo? What’s your dream car? Etc.
I’m kind of thinking enough is enough with this Wes cheating thing. I know it’s Bachelorette policy to say uninvolved and let things happen as the Bachelor or Bachelorette figures things out on their own. In this case, I think it’s gone on plenty long enough and is starting to seem like the show is happy to let Jillian be used for as long as drama can be drawn out. Also, I’m not looking forward to the sexual dysfunction storyline that the previews hinted happens to one of the guys on the fantasy dates. That’s a little TMI, in my opinion, and could backfire on the Bachelorette show by potentially painting Jillian in a negative light. Again, seems like the show is willing to exploit whatever humiliating personal misfortune possible to increase ratings. Tacky. I’m starting to wonder if the show passed its prime a couple of seasons ago.
