More The Must List

Bravo's 'Top Chef: Masters' premiere nabs our Must List pick: What's yours?

Let's all raise our glasses for a new season of Top Chef! (If you don't happen to have a container full of liquid in front of you, raising your eyeglasses works, too.) The culinary reality show's latest incarnation premieres tonight on Bravo, and even though it's a spin-off season (dubbed Masters) with real-life top chefs competing for their favorite charities, I'll take that over pretty much everything else on TV right now.

The best part of tonight's premiere is that it totally snuck up on me. It doesn't feel that long ago Hosea was mackin' on Leah but somehow still managed to knock off Stefan and walk away with the TC title. (Actually, it wasn't. Top Chef: New York ended in February.) Speaking of last season, check out Kate Ward's interview with Fabio, Carla, and Jeff to get an update on their post-reality TV lives. Topping Fabio's hysterical broken English, Carla's kooky life philosophies and Jeff's, well, hair will be a tall order, but here's hoping this new season can provide some personalities as colorful as those.

Your turn, PopWatchers: Top Chef: Masters tops our Must List this week. What's on yours? Kindly list your top three picks for this week in the comments below, and include your e-mail address in case we pick one of your submissions to use in the magazine.

Has anyone else been sucked into the Real Housewives of NJ? I think they may have found the best bunch yet…

Just watched the brand new video by Empire of the Sun for their single “Standing on the Shore.” They were strange before, but this firmly establishes them as the weirdest, most awesome thing happening in music.

Why is Padma not the host?

  • Amanda

I agree, what happened to Padma?

Bradley Cooper – Dude is finally getting respect and much-deserved attention. The Hangover is a hit, people are psyched he’s been cast in the new A-Team movie, and he is even being considered for the role of Green Lantern. He’s everywhere! And I couldn’t be happier.

    Goodbye June Gloom Playlist
    1. Deastro – the new album is a definite summer playlist contender. Pop, synth-electronic goodness from Detroit. Check out the track, Biophilia.
    2. MEW – How I love this Danish band. Cant wait for the new album, with the longest title in history. Check out the track, Introducing Palace Players.
    3. The Horrors – Haunting tunes from the U.K. They would have definitely been part of my teen angst music collection. Check out the track, Scarlet Fields.

    – “Futurama” to return! – The cult fave from “Simpsons” creator Matt Groening will be back with new episodes next year on Comedy Central, marking the first time a show has returned to the air after being officially canceled for more than a year since FOX’s “Family Guy”.
    – “The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson” – In the wake of the big late night shake-up, “the Scottish Conan” now has the most to gain in terms of viewership — his orange-haired former-competitor shared more than a few comedic stylings — and should be seeing an increase in the ratings too, as right now he’s funnier than ever.
    – Bret Michael’s Tony’s mishap on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2dA-AL90_RE – Because, unless you’re the world’s biggest Poison fan, it will never fail to make you laugh.

Vanessa Williams has never been more famous now that she’s a starring actress on Ugly Betty but I always have loved her voice! She’s back with her beautiful singing and I got her REAL THING album the second it went on sale. Her new “Just Friends” video proves she is sexier than ever!

I tried making this comment already but I don’t see it on the messages part of this page. Here it goes: I think Vanessa Williams may be more famous than ever for starring on Ugly Betty however I have always loved her voice! Her beautiful, emotion-filled singing is back. I got the Real Thing album the day it went on sale. And in the new “Just Friends” video, she proves she is a class act but also sexier than any of the pop tarts out there. Without a doubt.

Elvis Costello album “Secret, Profane and Sugarcane” because there’s a lot of acoustic going on so it’s perfect music for summer when you just want to chill. I’d say it’s a folksy approach to Americana yet totally true to him. Costello always evolves as an artist which I totally respect.

    A) I have a completely inappropriate crush on Mitchell Musso. He is on Hannah Montana but just put out an album that my daughter got for her birthday and “The In Crowd” single hooked me!!
    B) TV-wise I’m also excited for Royal Pains on cable — that actor, Mark Fuerstein (sp?) I have a fairly age-appropriate crush on!!!
    C) Bill Maher is doing great shows this season on hbo. I never miss him!
    D) I thought Neil Patrick Harris was great, I have rewatched certain parts of the tony awards just to see his goofy stchick, like smelling the broadway shows on that card, and his closing number.
