And you probably will. Yes, Newsweek! Stephen Colbert has been named first guest editor for the recently redesigned magazine in the title's 76-year-history. Editor Jon Meacham was "just very impressed with the range of his knowledge" and "almost encyclopedic feel for anything that came up" after the two ate lunch together. (They were likely eating Doritos.)
Colbert promises to pepper the "conventional wisdom" of his ultra-conservative Comedy Central character throughout the June 15 issue, but insists much of the content will be treated with the utmost seriousness. I'll be looking for lengthy character studies of his animal namesakes, along with — to be fair and balanced — some original Report-ing on why the party responsible for the economic crisis is actually BEARS. What would you want to read in the issue?

I’m looking forward to the issue. I don’t like the redesign of the magazine. In fact I have been a subscriber for over 10 years and I will probably not renew.
Great…EW, it looks like Newsweek is moving into your territory. How can anyone possibly take that magazine seriously anymore?

Is this the issue that eviscerates Oprah? If so, kudos to Colbert. Newsweek has earned buzz it hasn’t seen in decades.
Wait, they’re going to be ripping Oprah a new one in Newsweek?! I was almost about to buy the magazine just for Colbert, but now I have to own it if that’s the case!

A sneak peak at the cover?
