Before Bruno showed his pasty white buttocks to Eminem on the MTV Movie Awards, the network aired the one-hour season finale of The Hills, which also marked Lauren Conrad’s last appearance. And, PopWatchers, I got a little misty. Then again, the pollen count has been quite high lately so it may have been allergies. Still, watching Lauren drive off into the sunset away from all of her friends/co-stars/gaffers, I did think about how much fun I’ve had watching the last five years of Lauren’s life from Laguna Beach to now.
But even more fun was Heidi and Spencer’s wedding, which was as loopy as one could hope (Stacie the bartender showed up!). Kristin Cavallari, who helped introduce Heidi and Spencer and will be next season’s new star, showed up at the church sans bra, which felt both appropriate and a little uncomfortable. More genius was that she dressed in nearly the identical color as Lauren, who looked none-too-pleased to see her old rival. Heidi was literally dripping in diamonds; it’s like someone at the jewelry store told her that she could walk out of the store with as many jewels as she could get on her body and this was the result.
The final moments with Kristin joining Lo, Audrina, and Heidi and Spencer outside the church gave us a little taste of what the next season will look like. And, if that wasn’t enough, Hills producers even crafted a little teaser with footage shot so far. Looks like Kristin is doing what she does best: drama!

Kristen has said herself, on this website, that she is going to be acting to give herself exposure so she can have a real career. But honestly, it looks like it is going to be awesome becuase of that. Kristen vs. Audrina/Stephanie/Lo/Heidi. haha.
I am happy for Lauren to be free of that albatross of a show and hopefully she can go on and have a life that isn’t centered on a pseudo-feud. You could tell over the last couple of years she was ready to grow up.
But, no, I’m not in for Kristin. And I don’t think I’m alone.

Totally can NOT wait for next season. Kristin will make it so much more entertaining. This past season was a big snore. All the best to Lauren in her real life, but I won’t miss her on this fake show!

If I had the maturity of an 11 year old, was shallow, superficial and stupid I would probably love this show.
Kristen does bring drama but she’s not a likable person. I want to say I won’t watch the Hills without Lauren but like so many other “reality” shows, I always get caught up after surfing the channels for something good to watch before settling for some fluff. Mind you, fluff isn’t always bad but Kristen looks like she’s going to over do it. I feel kind of bad for her because she probably tried for some real acting roles, didn’t suceed and decided to come back to MTV.

Kristin Cavallari is a pathetic excuse for a chick. She has no class and I can’t wait to see Audrina & the crew make her look as stupid as she is. I’m going to miss Lauren she was the epitome of class, even if the show is fake you can’t fake class!

is it just me or did it seem like mtv didn’t give lauren a proper farewell? it seems like they swept her under a rug with kristen trying to stomp over her. come on, lauren started this show, without her it would have never been! i liked kristen on laguna but now she seems like a desperate hasbeen. and from the looks of the preview she is over-acting!
I agree, MTV didn’t give Lauren a proper goodbye. She’s the reason this show exists and why any of the rest of the “stars” have anything. Especially Heidi & Spencer who are beyond hungry for cameras. Kristin.. oh lord.. seems to be the same old attention hungry teenager, except now 5 years later. SAD.

Kristin is going to be so much drama for those Hills girls to deal with! Heidi and Audrina may have wished for the departure or Lauren (so they could be the main focus/star), but I say be careful what you wish for ladies. Kristin is not going to play nice or fair when it comes to stealing the show. They might miss Lauren after Kristin turns up the drama.

yup Cavallari will trash up the show way more than it can count on…should have ended it with Lauren’s departure. i don’t care what anyone says i LOVE Kristin!!! and i’m soooo happy she’s coming back to mtv! she makes the show so much better and so much more fun to watch! drama may be her thing but you all would be the same way too if you were gorgeous and rich! haha. i CAN’T WAIT til the first show airs!!! peacee.
