I am so glad you’re speaking up about how Christians should be accepting. Your relationship with Adam IS personally inspiring to me. Never change.
I can’t wait to buy your album; I know it is going to be as fabulous as Adam’s.
What Kris apparently “gets” is that God loves everybody. That’s what seems to be going over everyone’s heads.
Hey, this was a Kris interview without enough mentions of Adam in it – I demand a rewrite! Just kidding (sort of)
I’m a Christian & I’m more of a liberal. But the point of being a Christian is to accept other people the way they are. We can’t always agree as humans, but can open our hearts to different opinions. The point of being a Christian is to be like Christ, not being judgmental. I’m glad Kris addressed that issue, but not all Christians are close-minded.
Thanks for the Kris article Missy! Love this guy: his voice, his style, his tolerance and support of people who may not follow the same exact path as him.
Looking forward to more artciles that are Kris centered…he did win Idol after all, and I am sure he has plenty to say other than how much he likes Adam!
P.S. I’m also glad that he’s trying to set an example for the rest of us. At least he trying to be a good Christian guy.
Oh, boy…Kris is going to get it from Southerners/Alabamans/Christians about how he’s painting them as bigots or whatever. (I think a lot of them are, but as a public figure, it probably doesn’t pay to say that sort of thing.)
I still CANNOT STAND the one and only, super-generic Kris Allen! He is SO muthaf**king boring and a mediocre singer. I can sing better than him!
What a great article! It’s so nice to see that Kris can make fun of himself (his side jaw singing), and that he isn’t afraid of angering some of the more conservative Christians by talking about his great friendship with Adam, how people need to stop being so judgmental. He comes across as such a great, down-to-earth guy.
With every interview that I read or hear, I have grown to Love Kris as a person. He is truly the epitome of the American Idol — a great voice, great talent and all around nice guy.
Great article. You’re lucky to have spend time with him in NY. He’s a really great guy, artist and an excellent role model especially in regards to how people should respect each other!
I’m a Christian conservative. I have a lot of Christian conservative friends. And guess what? We love Adam. (And Kris, too!) We’re going to buy Adam CDs and Adam concert tickets. We voted for him. Please do not stereotype us. When you do, you are guilty of the exact thing you say you hate–judging without knowing a person.
True Christians love people no matter what, because that’s what Jesus did. BUT Jesus was not content to leave people in a state that he considered to be a sin, and Christians aren’t supposed to do that, either. Yet we’re also supposed to recognize that we are ALL sinners, Christians included! There are a lot of sins like righteousness and selfishness and boastfulness that Christians AND non-Christians commit all the time, and Jesus hated those sins more than prostitution and drunkenness. So let’s all remember that no one is perfect, no one’s sins are any better or worse than anyone else’s, and Adam is one talented dude. (And of course Kris is too!)
I am so tired of people dissing the South. I am a conservative Christian and I voted for Adam Lambert until my fingers hurt and so did many of my “Christian” friends. Discriminating against Southerners and Christians is no different than other types of discrimination.
If you haven’t heard Kris sing his own rendition of “yesterday” on Huckabee, you should! Its sensational! I cannot wait for this kid’s album to come out, he is brilliant!
