He gave you "Mad World," "Whole Lotta Love," "Tracks of My Tears," and so much more during American Idol’s eighth season. And if that wasn’t enough for you, now Adam Lambert has added to his list of accomplishments with a candid, freewheeling, and totally awesome five-part Idolatry interview. Press play below and hear what Adam has to say about why he gravitated toward songs with social relevance, what a drag queen and designer Bob Mackie had to do with his season-finale performance with Kiss, and how he vehemently disagrees with detractors who said his "Ring of Fire" cover was disrespectful to country music. Oh, there’s also talk about Adam’s strategic plan for global domination in a post-Idol world, his brilliant "Slow Ride" duet with Allison, and that Bill O’Reilly segment on those so-called "embarrassing" photos. Enjoy, and when you’re finished watching, do share your thoughts in the comments section below!

Finally! I thought it would never come. Thank you Michael!
This is absolutely brilliant.
Thank you!
that bill o’reilly segment was hilarious. censored KISSING?! “embarrassing”? really? what’s embarrassing about a kiss? It’s not a leaked porno. the majority of my facebook profile pics are more graphic than that. This reminds me of when the internet was abuzz with talk of miley cyrus’s naked SHOULDER!
Thank you for this interview! As always, Adam looks great! I’m going to watch it now. Adam, if you read this, I LOVE YOU and I can’t wait to see you perform this summer!
Adam’s interview has been the icing on my virtual internet cake. I have overloaded on Adam all day…Adamgasm’s every. Thank you Michael for give a A+++ interview. I will watch it again and again probably with a smile on my face. There will never be another like Adam Lambert!
Michael Slezak this interview was awesome. You finally took the conversation to a higher level than everything else I’ve read/heard.
And how great is Adam. I want to hang out with him. I want to buy him a cocktail. He deserves gobs of success.
Adam, I love you! “Thanks for your concern. I think I’ll be okay” You worked those boots! Screw Gene Simmons! Adam’s better.
Thanks for the great interview Mike! Really insightful and meaningful! Great to see a less guarded Adam! He is really open and honest here! Great to hear that he knows that he has a lot of international fans out there!
What an awesome, intelligent guy!
Terrific interview…Even though it’s already 5 parts, if there’s any scraps of the interview left on the cutting room floor, please post them
More, more, more!!
Awesome Interview. The best so far this year. Great questions, classic Adam. Look forward to his album.
And, Adam’s loss was not a gay thing…maybe more song style…(Kris more straight singing, Adam a bit more wailing *screaming)
GLAMBERT ALL THE WAY!
I think Adam Lambert is the best vocalist since Elvis Presley. He is an all around great entertainer, and I feel privileged to have seen him become a star. I hope he stays grounded and true to himself; Live long, be strong, and always keep singing.
I really enjoyed this interview. Adam is really a nice guy, i wish that i was lucky enough to actually know him, i would fit in well with his mad world. always an adam fan till they lay me down.
Thanks for a great interview. I truly enjoy Idolatry!
Adam is AMAZING!!!!! I love him to pieces.
GREAT interview w/ AL.
If we got anything from Adam being on this season, it’s a lesson in how to listen to music. Am betting that many, many viewers will be more attentive to the various factors that go into the music on the show, and not just the performers.
The BEST Adam interview ever. Adam is an incredible person. And will be a mega star if I have anything to do with it. He is our new King of Rocknroll.
Thanks EW for the 5 segments on Adam!Adam: we love your outfits too! The grace with which you carry itself is unreal and I’m excited for your album. Please don’t ever change
Brilliant interview! Loved every minute of it. You were both fantastic – i wish it were longer, i didn’t want it to ever end.
This is the best idolatry episode ever!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!Slezak, YOU DID IT!!!! YOU GOT THE *REAL* ADAM!!!! This interview was amazing!!!! It was obvious you got him to let down his guard, he seemed uncensored and totally himself. And I’m speechless. He is absolutely phenominal. I’m in my 30’s and I’ve never seen or heard a more charismatic, enigmatic entertainer in my life. It gives me chills to watch him because I believe 100% this is the beginning of an Icon. Like Elvis, Adam is going to become a music legend. Kudos to you for getting the most revealing, honest interview he’s done. Just superb!
Very deep interview. I like how Adam finally gets a chance to tell it like it is – he looks comfortable and reveals a more assertive side. Well done.
AHH! Thank you. Thank you. Way too short, but I absolutely loved it. The Gene Simmons thing was hysterical. I love how he is always himself and can take a joke. Have you thought about bringing him back weekly during the tour? Doing tour updates? Please!
Michael, THANK YOU!! What a terrific interview! I’ve seen ALL of Adam’s post idol interviews, and he just seemed so comfortable with you. (You, on the other hand seemed to be in awe of him … come on, admit it!) Adam is such a wonderful person that has amazing talent! Please do a monthly interview, okay at least quarterly … BEST interview hands down! Great job!
Adam is this generation’s Elvis: great looks, phenomenal talent, amazing, amazing vocals and a super personality. He’s got it all going on. For the record, Ring of Fire is one of my favorite performances from any singer. Ever.
Can’t wait to see him in concert and I’m dying for his album.
Thank you Michael! I can’t wait to see it…or maybe I can. I had been waiting for this interview, for me it’s the real closure of this year’s Idolatry.
I loved how free-flowing the conversation was; it genuinely seemed like two guys sitting around and having a conversation versus a formal interview. Brilliant! Did you like the guy Slezak? He’s so composed. I’m incredibly impressed.
Wow….wow….wow….wow…wow!!! Really there are no words. Well, maybe three…Best-Interview-Ever!!!!!
Seriously, Best-Interview-Ever!!!!!
WOW!!! What a great interview. Great questions…honest answers. Loved it.
thank you SO much Slezak! that is the best interview of adam done so far. it was so nice to hear what he was thinking as he went through the competition. a brilliant vocalist AND a brilliant strategist/businessman – that is a knockout combination!
LOVE LOVE LOVE ADAM!
Adam, you’re an absolute STAR!
