It’s here at last: The five-part Idolatry season finale! Okay, yes, it’s not technically our season finale. (Later this week, we’ll have in-depth interviews with season 8′s top 3 finishers — Kris Allen, Adam Lambert, and Danny Gokey.) But as far as your regularly scheduled Idol deep-dive is concerned, this is it, people! Press play and (hopefully) enjoy as my cohost Kristen Baldwin and I have one final 2009 chat (on camera) about our national obsession America’s favorite TV talent show. Questions on the docket: How did the season finale become a (possible) referendum on (possibly) gay rights? (Or did it at all?) Which piece of advice from Adam Lambert helped semifinalist/Jason Averett crush Jesse Langseth become even cooler during her Hollywood Week run? Who got snubbed hardest in the Idol season-finale extravaganza? (And why do the producers work so hard to spoil our enjoyment of said episode?) What changes would Kristen and I bring to Idol for season 9…if we were limited to one tweak apiece? (And how come neither of us immediately said “Fire Kara!”?) We give you bonus info about several members of the top 13 — yep, we’re spilling dish we gathered when the cameras weren’t rolling — there’s Bonus “Kristen With Glasses,” and phone interviews with semifinalists Jesse Langseth and Ricky Braddy! (UPDATE: Part 5, featuring Mr. Braddy, is now live and streaming! Sorry for the delay!) Oh, and of course, there’s footage of me getting my hair dyed Iraheta Fuchsia. And the countdown to my buzz-cut begins in 5, 4, 3, 2…

No one can watch the final two shows of American Idol and think that the title was given to the right man. Adam rocked, he was amazing. Even now who want to see whats his name, the tiny little guy with the matching talent? The fans have a right to know what happened down in Arkansas. Why vote if AT&T helped push the win for whats his name?

I’m sorry you have sour grapes, truly, however you do not speak for everybody. I don’t think Adam lacked talent. I simply think Kris is more commercial. Adam is great to watch, but Kris did have a more emotional connection with his songs and with the audience. If you’re so bitter over it, here’s a thought. Don’t watch Idol. Buy Adam’s CD. Ta da!!
I honestly believe that Adam will be a megastar, no doubt. He should be happy that he didn’t win the title because if had, the music industry wouldn’t respect him as a legitimate artist. Even during the finale, the producers made the show revolve around Adam, basically suggesting that even if Adam loses, he’ll still be the worldclass superstar. Adam shouldn’t have anything to worry about. And besides, Kris needed it more.
Ok, didn’t the season end last week? LET IT GO PEOPLE!
Part 5 is missing.
Thank you for another brilliant season of Idolatry. That ending montage was beautiful. I am excited for the Top 3 interviews.
What kind of music do you guys think Adam should do? He said he wants to do go the pop/rock route. I agree, but he should add a little soemthing freaky in the mix. Madonna anyone? Anyways, yeah agree that he’ll be a superstar no matter what. A lot of people in the music industry think so too. My sister writes music and she thinks Adam will blow up by this time next year. Amen sista friend.
Where’s part 5?
Get over yourself already! You are just pathetic and apparently living in your own world! Kris won! America loves him. You need to accept that fact that not everyone enjoyed Adam’s singing (or screaming) and he was just not that popular. You can whine or bash Kris all you want but it won’t change the fact that Kris is THE american idol and a well-deserved winner. You can be disappointed at the results, but to make personal attacks on Kris it just shows how classless and immature you really are. Adam was truly gracious about it and seemed genuinely happy for Kris, but fans like you are just making him look bad! You should be ashamed of yourself.
Part 5 is not loading for me.
Part 5 is coming…”and Ricky Braddy! (Due to technical difficulties, we’ll be adding Ricky’s chat later this morning, so keep checking back for it!)”
Did America get it right….

Poll says NO!!!
Slezak and Co., Idolatry gets better with each season and if I’m being honest (a la Simon) I think the only reason I watched Idol this year was so I could more fully appreciate Idolatry. Keep it up!
Singer Frustrations, General Observations.
1.Can’t decide if Kris’ side mouth singing is cute or annoying(I’m leaning to annoying).
2.Why does Adam have to stick out his tounge all the time?(my music teacher said to never do that.)
3. Why does Adam look like he is in pain when he sings certain phrases or notes.(Stopped listenting to Paula Cole for the same reason.)
However, still happy that they BOTH WON!!!
