I really enjoyed this article, and I used the links to find the film critique blog of Glenn Kenny, Some Came Running, and it was a good read. It was funny reading about his experience, worrying what his wife would do (she laughed) and all the self mocking and the way he felt when reading the film reviews. Kind of turned the tables on a critic, dish it out, but can he take it? You got the feeling that in spite of all that, it was a dream come true for a film critic. Getting back to this article, about Steven Soderbergh taking a swipe at critics, yeah, I think he did, but in a clever way, chaneling his anger into a creative endeavor. That is the best response. Use the criticism as inspiration. I will continue to read both this blog and Glenn Kenny’s.
