Although I can say with sincerity that I am proud of both you and Adam for the classy way you guys have performed in this competition, I have to salute you Kris for showing the most versatility, growth, creativity and humility. I am so proud of you! Any chance you’ll whip out the ukelele or viola during the Idols tour?
Look, Adam is by far the better talent, and it’s just silly to say anything else. But AI is not a talent contest. We’ve seen that too often before to be surprised by it. Adam worked idol well, and it boosted his career. Kris seems a genuinely good person who does understand the concept of shaping a song. Adam does not have to sing that dreadful song, and Kris will be happy to have the opportunity. Nothing terrible happened here. At least not this week.
Both finalists are great talents and even greater men. But let’s face it–Kris needed to win this. Adam didn’t.
AT&T said that Kris’ home state (arkansas) made 38 million text votes last night. Apparently if you had AT&T unlimited texting, you could vote unlimited times. Many people voted THOUSANDS of times. How is that fair? I think it’s sad to win something that way and I bet Kris will feel the same way.

hansard, it’s not too early to predict, other than in the sense that life takes strange twists we don’t see coming. Kris is the Homecoming King. His star will shine until we find the next one. Adam will be moving on to bigger and better things for years to come.
I voted thousands of times as well. I was enough of a dedicated Kris fan to vote for him for the full voting period. Did you vote for Adam for the full 4 hours? If you didn’t, then no wonder he lost.
I think Adam was robbed, but I take solace in the fact that he will not be forced to sing any god awful, contracted AI songs.
Adam will go on to be an epic performer, so none of this matters.
Oh, and voting thousands of times?

Whatever. Adam singing with Queen made my night. I still think he should have won, but the thing is that Adam had the anti-gay vote against him (as can be seen from Bill O’Reilly’s segment,Gokey’s pastor’s tweets, and other stuff online – these pretty much told people to vote against Adam coz he’s gay). America, I am ashamed of you as a nation. I can’t believe this turned into some culture war, when it’s only a freaking TV show. I’m happy for Kris, but I can’t help but feel disgusted about America right now.
Congratulation to Kris. This might be for the best. we know that 38 millions of that votes come from Kris hometown make it more appropriate if we call him, Arkansas Idol rather than American Idol. But it’s ok, American Idol it is.
Adam Lambert might not win American Idol, but in the eyes of many he is WORLD IDOL. Plus, he doesn’t have to sing that crappy coronation song.
To Brad, Starr and Crabby, you guys don’t know real talent when it hits you on the face. I’ve seen a lot of artists like Kris. I even have some friends with that talent (singing good with nice voice and playing several instruments). But talent like Adam is once in every few decades.
You guys should watch Adam pre-idol performances to see that you have missed one of the biggest talents music world have ever seen. Check out his singing “The Prayer”, “Dust in the Wind”, “Come Home”, “What’s Up”, “Is Anybody Listening”, “I Just Love You” and the best of all “Come to me, Bend to me” from Brigadoon the Musical
I for one will be in line buying Kris’s Album. Adam fans, just accept the fact that he will have an album too and you can buy his stuff if you want. The fact of the matter is KRIS IS OUR AMERICAN IDOL. The best MAN won!
