Jeff you should absolutely talk to the back row. I remember watching a reunion show a few years ago, I guess it was when someone else was hosting it, and they totally ignored half of the people there! What is the point in them being there is they are going to be ignored? They at least deserve something. Sure you don’t know if you might be missing something better from the “bottom row”, but if you ignore the top row you could just as easily be missing something from them!
Hey Jeff! This season was aweomse– probably my third favorite overall (My first being Fans Vs. Favorites, second, Gabon)! Love, love, love JT, but I thought that Brendan deserved to win the Player of the Game– he was by FAR my favorite on the show. Well, gotta go and watch American Idol. Can’t wait for Samoa!
Jeff — you focused too much on obnoxious, self-promoting COACH. He was dreadful, and you pandered to him. During the season, your camreas cuaght him lying with his Sierra interaction, and still you treated him as if he was on some kind of special moral ground — ppppuuuullleeaassee
Hated him, and hated your pandering to him. It took away from the other players that I enjoyed more.
Jeff – Loved seeing you in the taupe shirt during the live show! See, you do look good in other colors! Of course this wasn’t a large departure from the norm, but baby steps. Maybe next time you’re buying a t-shirt, instead of black or light blue, try orange (it’s pretty popular here in T-Town). Just a suggestion, like I’ve said before, you always look handsome.
Oh, how I’ll miss seeing you, and your dimples, this summer. Just so you know, my offer to be your traveling companion remains open. If you would like more fashion advice, or just want to chat, you know where to find me. Who knows, maybe I’ll see you in Paris after all. – A
not EVERYONE was happy to see j.t. win this season….i wanted taj or sierra. and i’ll join the chorus of saying too much time was spent with coach in the finale…he’s a joke. a bad one.
Bravo on the charity work! I admire that! Okay, as always, my feminist question: How come every great player you mention is a man? JT was good, but is he really better then Parvity or Cirie? (Granted, Cirie didn’t win.) I would love to see more vocal appreciation for female game play. Having a host and producers who believe women are as skilled as men would go a long way toward creating a bit of equality. Women shouldn’t have to fight against sexism–as well as the elements and the backstabbing.
Hi Jeff. Thanks for your blog this season. I find your behind the scenes insight to be fascinating.
As for the “back row” questions – I’d MUCH, MUCH rather hear from people like Candace & Sandy over people like JT’s mom and Coach’s girlfriend.
Although, I think you made your point about them not being that important when you refered to Carolina as “Catalina”.
Acknowledge the back row for a second and then move on. I hate to say it, but I didn’t even remember that first girl…so I wasn’t super interested in anything she had to say.
Coach’s “lie detector test” was bogus like him. When Jeff read it, he didn’t say whether the results indicated truthfullness or not, he just read Coach’s answer….and those things are so hokey anyway. Pathological liars can pass them easily.
I was really happy with the final four for the first time in I don’t know how long. Love JT.
Best part of the season was when Tyson was blindsided!! I LOVED it! That was even better than Coach getting the boot.
Good season, great show. Love it.
First of all, Stephen said that he was not sure what he would have done. All he admitted was that he “feared” he would have chosen Erinn and “hoped” he would have chosen JT.
Second, the lie detector test was a joke. Delusional people do not fail lie detector tests. So even if Coach’s test was administered by a legitimate source (which it likely wasn’t: http://www.crinvestigations.com/johngroganisafraud.htm), it still would not prove he was telling the truth.
I agree I hope that some of the ALL STARS will be those that were injured and had to leave, anyone else BUT THE CROTCH on the ALL STARS and NONE of the past winners either!
Please for good TV and probably the final survior do us all a favor and (I know u have ur man crush) don’t put that moron on Survivor again.
Good blog.
Could have had more information but I’m sure you’re busy w/Somoa.
Can’t wait.
Gonna look at the interviews later so I’m sure I’ll have some more comments later.
Jeff, a few comments pls:
1 Please bring back the ENDURANCE CHALLENGE for the FINAL IMMUNITY. It makes it so much more epic to see the contestant who has the most willpower to last get to choose who to bring to the final TC. Seeing it all come down to balls or stacking cards or balancing dishes is silly & an extreme letdown.
.
2 Please stop offering YOUR opinions at TC. You are there to ask the survivors questions and get them to answer THEIR thoughts. I am sick of your unnecessary influence (Telling Stephen YOU FEEL he doesn’t know how to play Survivor; etc.). And stop saying to people, “Your two options are ___ and ___. What are you gonna do?” Don’t TELL them their options. They need to figure it out on their own & you are influencing the game by subtly offering them strategy tips. Just ask them “WHAT are your options?” Use this blog to give your thoughts. TC is not the time/place for your thoughts/observations.And stop picking on certain people at TC just for an “interesting” moment
Haven’t read this blog yet – the last Probst blog, about an amazing finale to a fantastic season, I have to savor it, yannow? – but I wanted to pop in and say YES, YAY! I was so afraid there wasn’t going to be a blog at all! Thank you, thank you, thank you. (And I’ll let you know if I take that back later)
Why do the contestants on the finale look thin these days. They used to look like puff balls. Do they have a clause in their contract that says no weight gain after show?
REAL, EVERYDAY AMERICANS FOR SAMOA!!!!
STRONGER WOMEN FOR SAMOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STRONGER OLDER PEOPLE FOR SAMOA!!!!!!!
BIG PERSONALITIES FOR SAMOA!!!!!!!!!!!
DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS FOR SAMOA!!!!!!!!!
Take every finalist who is a “friend of a friend” and CUT THEM right now!
Take every finalist pulled from an LA bar, beach, taco stand, Santa Monica Pier, and any other LA hotspot that you routinely hit up for good-looking (but undoubtedly BORING) people, and CUT THEM right now!
THEN… YES, ONLY THEN, WILL IT BE A GREAT CAST.
Great blog again as usual Jeff!! Yes, better late than never!!
I too think you should talk to the “back row” folks. Give them a few minutes, they deserve some recognition. They shouldn’t be ignored, by any means.
I also like the idea of bringing back old contestants that had to leave because of injuries. They deserve another chance to prove themselves. And yes, do NOT bring back past winners to the All Star Show!! Why should they get another chance to when another million?? Not fair!! But then again JT was a good player!!?
I don’t know, I’m kinda torn now. He’d probably get voted out fast anyway and not win the money, since the others will know he’s a threat!!
And no offense against “A Nice Woman”…I’m sure you’re a great gal… but I think I would make a great “traveling companion” for you as well, Jeff!! If you get lonely while in Samoa, just let me know!!
Anyway, have a great summer in Samoa and can’t wait to see the show (and your weekly blogs) in the fall!!
