Those who are unhappy with the results should keep in mind that if only the three judges picked the winner then the best dancer would win. But the public is allowed to vote, and many vote many, many times so the result can never be anything other than a popularity contest. Nothing was fixed, nothing was rigged. The voting public chose the winner and the majority of the votes went to Shawn. As long as DWTS uses this very biased and unprofessional voting system there will always be losers who many others think should have been winners. And vice-versa.

Is the best dancer not supposed to win? The top three should have been Gilles, Melissa and Lil Kim.
Why was Shawn still there?…certainly not because of her dancing.

I never liked Shawn and I don’t think it is fair that Olympians compete on this show in the first place. How can anyone else win against someone that practices for hours on end for a living? For weeks I’ve noticed Shawn needs to win because that is what makes her tick. I couldn’t stand her since the week she pulled out all the gymnastics moves in the dance and then pouted because the judges called her on it. I didn’t know anything about Giles when the season began but he certainly gained my respect and my vote in the end. He was robbed.

To you negative people, Shawn came through in the finals. Everything started out even at that point. Her dance last night was great and got her the votes. She tied in points with Giles but the fans put her ahead so congratulations SHAWN!

Shawn improved in her dancing each week and showed great determination and perseverance to win. She wasn’t allowed the same amount of rehearsal time as the others due to some type of law regarding minors, yet each week her steps and footwork were technically correct and precise. She is by her own admission somewhat shy and initially felt far out of her comfort zone, but you could see her loosening up as time went on and really getting into each dance. I admire her discipline and work ethic both as an athlete and a contestant and I’m delighted with her win. Not to take anything away from Melissa or Gilles, all three finalists were good dancers, but we all have our favorites, and mine was Shawn.

Gilles and Cheryl were robbed. They were the best since week 1. Outrageous!! I’ll never watch this fake show again. Definitely completely rigged. Who voted for a

I’m SOOOOO happy that Shawn won. She truly deserved it. I truly believe that it was the freestyle dance that sealed it for her. Also highlight of the night would have to be jeff ross’ roast ofthe DWTS cast… he was spot on and HILARIOUS!!! he didn’t roast denise richards though…

Shawn, you are our Iowa dancing star. You were underrated, but now you are the winner. I loved your effort, and you were a great “team.” what great choreography for you both. That’s what won it for you. Celebrate excellence.

I think it was the freestyle that did it. For my own 5 votes, I was planning to give Gilles 4 and Shawn 1, and in the end I gave Shawn 2… enough votes migrate over and voila, Shawn wins. Gilles was very gracious.

First Kristi, now Shawn. The next time Mark is partnered with an Olympian, he’ll win another trophy. Just watch.

Shawn won because for the finals Gilles and Shawn had 88 out of 90. If Gilles had done a perfect 2 dances on monday he would be the champion. I voted for Melissa Twice, Gilles twice and Shawn once.
