His march towards being crowned the next American Idol has seemed virtually inevitable (especially after Danny Gokey unwisely attempted to croon "Dream On"). Yes, Adam can actually lose American Idol. No, it’s not because the “heartland” might not like it, it’s because Kris was superbly awesome all season long. They were both great in totally different ways so give credit where it’s due! Kris might take it because he totally kicked ass on Idol all season long as well (and with no help from the judges, producers, etc!)
Adam is AMAZING! He should win the whole thing!
All depends on who Gokey’s fans vote for. We may be robbed of the best idol contestent ever!
Why does everyone think Adam is inevitable? Don’t you think close to 100% of Gokey’s votes will go to Kris? I actually think it would be more shocking for Adam Lambert to WIN.
I was/still am a Danny and Allison fan, DEFINATELY voting for Kris this week.
I think Kris needs to win American Idol. Adam is going to get a record deal regardless. I cannot stand Adam’s voice and hope that all of Danny’s fans will vote for Kris.
I think either should win…my first pick is Adam, since he caught my attention each week. While Kris was good each week, he wasn’t the one that I had to watch.
YES Adam can lose! So we have to VOTE for him, non-stop during call in hours! Kris will probably get the Danny votes and last week Adam and Kris were only 1m votes apart. We know Adam is already a winner. He raised the stakes and the rest scrambled to catch to him. So he deserves the win! VOTE VOTE VOTE for ADAM!!!
I’m totally with you, AC! Though I agree that Adam is incredibly talented, his music isn’t my style and I’m rooting for Kris!
The only reason Adam’s “march towards being crowned” has been so inevitable is because the producers, judges, and media have made it that way. Hopefully all the hype has turned people off and Kris will win as the underdog.
ADAM IS THE STAR OF THE SHOW AND ALREADY AN INTERNATIONAL STAR. Kris is mediocore and nothing special. When Kris sells more on Itunes, more videos, more memorabilia, gets standing ovations from Simon and Smokey Robinson, then maybe Kris might have a shot. But, the facts speeak for themselves. The only way Adam will lose is because people are nasty and hateful. And are juding him other things besides his phenominal singing and entertaining ability.
Maybe close to 100% of Gokey’s fans just won’t vote!
Imo it SHOULD be Adam, based on overall level of performance all year long. However, if people just remember one night of performances, and Kris has another “Heartless” moment, it could go his way. I think what works the most against Adam is the “vote for the underdog” mentality, which isn’t really fair, because Adam, despite the supposed “pimping”, etc. has genuinely been the most consistent, and talented performer each week. He’s deserved all the praise he’s gotten, and he’s been nothing but humble about it all.

I’m not an Adam fan. The screaming, albeit on pitch, gives me a headache. I can’t imagine listening to him for 120 minutes in a live show. He’s going to get a contract … of that, I have no doubt, but I wouldn’t buy his CD. I would buy Kris’ because he can mix up … and he knows the importance of volume control.
I believe that based on star power and amazing vocals and performances.. Adam Lambert will be the next American Idol. I can’t wait to see it happen!

I am definitely an Adam fan and have been since week 2. However, the judges were extremely biased all season towards him and the absolutely did not give Kris any of the credit that he deserved. He was as good as Allison and better than Danny. That being said, I hope that Adam wins, but I will not be crushed if Kris ends up winning either.

GO KRIS! I will not deny Adam has talent, but I think he only had 2 great moments (Mad World, Tears on my face) and everything else was him screaming and thrusting his tongue out. Kris had more brilliant moments and was more successful in reimagining songs PLUS he showed originality and just plain awesomeness in picking “Falling Slowly” in Movie week. KRIS ALL THE WAY!

Jessica and Dalton:
I’m curious, how did you guys go from hating Adam Lambert as a singer to really wanting him to win (which presumably means you think he’s really good)?
Adam will win, and his debut will likely sell well, but that’ll be about it. He absolutely does NOT fit into the music industry as he is now (especially since his singing style went out for men about 20 years ago). He’ll either have to tone down the theatrics and get into an alternative rock band, or he’ll find himself on Broadway. All while Kris sells millions of records and has a solid career, because he’s more what’s “in” right now. And Jessica? I’m a rock fan with lots of friends who are rock fans, and Adam doesn’t have “rock cred” among us, because we all think he’s just ACTING. It’s great that he likes different styles of music, including rock, but he’s a theater guy… not an authentic rocker in any sense.
Did I actually see a comment about Adam’s tongue? And have you had any formal voice training? The vocals Adam has are God given and extensively trained. Where the tongue is positioned is essential. Have you people seen opera. Oh sorry, I guess not. You can like Kris, but don’t critize Adam based on his looks or, heaven forbid, his tongue.
