One more thing. This show is getting compared to “The Office” for some obvious reasons, but with “The Office,” the characters, especially Michael, were so memorable that I instantly fell in love. Early on that show was one of my favorite shows on TV. Then it evolved, and when Holly (Amy Ryan) joined, it was at its height of greatness. After Holly left, I stopped watching b/c it wasn’t as good w/o her. Anyways, with P&R, it definitely feels like there is something lacking. Maybe it’s the format w/the confessionals and Amy Poehler’s character being comparable to Michael Scott, but it seems like a task to make something funny out of a government parks department. The characters carry the show, and P&R definitely needs to develop these characters. 6 episodes isn’t enough to do that (although Holly’s addition to The Office was a 6-episode arc, but she was with an already well-established cast). This show needs work but has potential.
