You know the old saying: April showers bring May flowers, April repeats bring May finales. (Okay, I just made that up. Should’ve gone with ”sweeps,” it rhymes better.) Either way, this week was chock full of season finales — including The Biggest Loser, Bones, 30 Rock, Parks & Recreation, Being Erica, Hell’s Kitchen, The Office, America’s Next Top Model, The Celebrity Apprentice, and Lost (just to name a few). Here’s what else made the Fray this week:
10. Tim Stack wondered: just who are these Jon & Kate people?
9. Jeff Probst blogged his thoughts on the penultimate Survivor episode. If one Reality TV host/judge blog isn’t enough for ya, check out Phil Keoghan’s thoughts on the Amazing Race finale and Carrie Ann Inaba’s thoughts on this week’s Dancing With the Stars.
8. Seacrest, will you quit it with the gay jokes?
7. This week in ”Michael Slezak Predicts the Future” (also known as the American Idol Power List): Gokey goes home!
6. The latest episodes of Idolatry include a tribute to the most awesome, wonderful, rocktagious contestant this season (Allison, duh) and a warning to Kris about possible sabotage.
5. This week on Idol, Adam, Kris, and Danny performed songs chosen for them by the judges.
4. J.J. Abrams’ new Star Trek: yea or nay?
3. Did you see the Lost finale? OMG!
2. America finally put the ”Go” in Gokey on Wednesday night. You shared your thoughts during and after the show, and Adam B. Vary reported dutifully On the Scene at the Idoldome.
1. The Celebrity Apprentice went out with a three-hour finale on Sunday night, and sparks flew in the final boardroom.

“Celebrity Apprentice” – good riddance. Hopefully we’ve seen the last of it. I was a mongo fan of “The Apprentice”, and season one of “Celebrity Apprentice” wasn’t bad. But Trump took a high-flying show and just crashed it into the ground, it was a season-long spin to prop up Joan Rivers, who did just about everything to show how little she deserved it. I think the shock to the show people was how outstanding Annie Duke turned out to be, it forced Trump to completely change all the rules in the 11th hour, and even then Joan Rivers barely “won” by bringing in a whopping $100K compared to Annie Duke’s $450K take on ONE TASK, the largest in series history, making Annie the largest winner overall in all Apprentice history – and she still somehow “lost”, and was insulted repeatedly by Rivers and by Trump to boot. It was really stupid. I used to really love Trump, I looked forward to his appearances on Regis or CNBC. But he’s a charlatan. Very sad. Stupid show.
No Grey’s? M.A. kept us up until 3 am for his “scoop” with Shonda. lol

There is more to life than American Idol people! How are 5 out of 10 things on the list always about this show? Get a grip EW….or change your name to American Idol Weekly since that is all you cover!
This may help explain why Allison went home. (parts of a lengthy post at AI)
“This isn’t about me wanting to make sure Adam wins. I don’t think he stands a chance with all of Christian USA behind Kris. This is about me wondering WHEN someone’s going to do something to combat the unfair voting practices of these religious groups.”
not sure why all of my post didn’t go through…….
I have been waiting for SOMEONE in the media to report on some major voting “scandal” “scoop” or
whatever you want to call it on American Idol. the #1 reason Kris has made it to the
finals……he is getting MASSIVE Christian votes through a network of Bible thumpers that
started a huge voting campaign at his church in Arkansas, New Life.
New Life has sent emails and texts across the country to other “like-minded” MEGA churches and
these Christians are voting IN FORCE. They’re not voting for what Simon says “The best singer”.
last excerpt – helps to explain why Allison went home – from a post seen at AI
I should add that I’m from Arkansas and I like Kris and think he IS what you see: a super nice, talented, Christian guy.I honestly don’t believe Simon Cowell or anyone with American Idol or the media has a CLUE that this is happening. As I’ve told some of my fellow Arkansans, this is
“American Idol” not “Christian American Idol.” I’m SICK of these church groups taking control of our political system in the U.S. and now using their same power to vote out “Evil Adam” and secure “Good Kris” as the winner.
