Would Kate Beckinsale play Ava Gardner again? Or would they change the actress since she might be a more central character? I personally didn’t like her in the role considering she looked absolutely NOTHING like her.

Jonathan Rhys Myers, definitely. He has a good face structure, youth, and the sparkle in his (blue) eyes!

Jonathan Rhys Meyers is perfect. Perfect. Really, really good actor and as others has said has that sexy, bobbin way of moving and the lean body. Kind of looks like young sinatra and is great with musical roles. DiCaprio is wrong for this. Depp, is too old for the younger years.

How about no one! Why do people still worship this guy? He was a so-so talent and an arrogant jerk who had more than his deserved share of success. Now he’s gone- let’s all please move on. That goes for Dean Martin and all that other Rat Pack nonsense too.
And as for “Leo” (what, do you guys know him personally or something?) he is every bit as overrated as SInatra. It’s hard to take him remotely seriously, especially with his cheesy facial hair and girly features.
Between his inexplicable DiCaprio and Rolling Stones worship, I am less and less inclined to watch any of “Marty’s” (again, what’s with this familiarity?) movies anymore.
Why do people keep building monuments to mediocrity?

Wow, Jonathan Rhys Meyers would be a really inspired choice to play Sinatra. Younger moviegoers, like myself, wouldn’t go to see this film but if JRM were in it, I definitely would!

I’m glad to see that others think Jonathan Rhys Myers would be good casting for Sinatra. He is the first one I thought of. Harry Connick Jr would be my second choice, but he may be a little old if they are going to start the story with the younger Sinatra though. Depp and DiCaprio are both great, but they aren’t Sinatra types. And they are in so many movies these days they are becoming over-exposed. Whether I go see this movie or not depends on who gets this role in the end.. as well as the supporting cast. They not only have to find someone who can fill Sinatra’s shoes, but also find actors who can be believable as Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr, Ava Gardner, Mia Farrow, and a host of others.

Leo as Sinatra … completely crazy. I am a HUGE Sinatra fan… HUGE… and the only modern day actor who could “step into those shoes” is Jonathan Rhys Meyers! He IS a modern day Sinatra.
If Scorsese does his homework, he will ONLY cast Jonathan Rhys Meyers. As much as I love Sinatra, it would break my heart if he cast Leo (fabulous, but poor cast). All it would take is Scorsese to study Rhys Meyers… there is NO other actor in 2009 who would be able to “live” Sinatra’s charasmatic character and deep inner struggle on screen as beautiful as Jonathan Rhys Meyers!

I don’t think that DiCaprio is the best actor to play Sinatra. If Universal is opposed to casting a new face in the roll then Harry Connick Jr., Jonathan Rhys Meyers, or James Marsden would do great!
