This was our 1st season of TBL. Although we were inspired to work harder ourselves to lose unnecessary weight, we were disappointed in the final results. Tara and Mike looked healthier than Helen. Tara won the most challenges and always stayed above the yellow line. Mike lost more pounds than anyone. Helen just showed that she wanted the money more than being healthy and selfless. Tara was a little whiny, but she demonstrated a TRUE change, both inside and out, as did Mike. Helen was the same witch all the way through. BL should not necessarily reward on percentage because not everyone can heathily lose the same percentage of weight. But, overall, most of the contestants seemed to lose substantial weight and have learned how to eat better. I, too, would have like to have seen Max lose some weight with help from Mike and Ron, but he needs to want it himself. Overall, we were inspired to work to get healthier, ourselves, but probably won’t watch TBL again.

It is a competitive/challenging game with others and oneself…. end results win criteria is highest % of weight loss….personality dynamics, stragtegy to win, most wins in game challenges, individual healthy end result status are a part of the viewer draw … however The Biggest Loser may now be the Biggest Loser …. suggestion: Revamp WIN criteria and WIN back viewership … lets evolve a little here – .02

I was shocked when she came out. She was wayy too skinny and it didn’t look good on her. I thought she looked amazing on the last weigh in on the ranch. I guess she did what she needed to to win though.
I was disappointed when I watched the finale though. I thought that it wasn’t done very well.
I also miss the way they did it a few seasons ago when it wasn’t just percentage of weight loss, but it also counted body fat. That would be a much better way of deciding the winner.

Doesn’t anyone remember whiny, bitchy Tara who was going to leave because everyone ganged up on her,oh boohoo, poor me.And all her constant yakking about the target on her back.Puleeze.Shannon went home instead of Helen, because it is a compitetion, and obviously,Shannon lacks the discipline to lose the weight needed to win, that’s why people go on the show,to lose weight and win money.Thought it was hilarious when Tara decided to go last in the weigh in.Bet she thought she had it sewn up,and that Mike was her only competition.Talk about getting what you deserve. And what was going on with her dress? The bustline was hideous, mainly because she has no bust now.Bet she has a boob job within the year.So image obsessed. Also, people are talking about awful people on the show,I seem to remember Ron telling the people who didn’t vote for him to stay that he hoped they died. Now thats classy.Much worse to send the weakest teammate home, even if they are the child, than to curse others with death.

  • I WAS a Biggest Loser fan

I used to love this show, but the season really sucked. From the stupid drama between Felipe and Jillian, the mystery of why Ron never got voted off, the complete non-diversity of the players that always seem to get to stay, and seeing Helen win after she so selfishly put herself before her daughter’s welfare. I didn’t think I could dislike anybody more than I dislike last season’s Heba, but I really despise Helen. Yes, her daughter is an adult and is responsible for her own weight. But Helen has already had children, is already married, has already lived her youth. Shannon seemed so pathetic, her reasons for wanting to lose weight were real- she wanted a family, which Helen already had. Helen is a selfish, stupid, greedy woman. Shannon, I hope you find the strength to cut ties from your vain, insecure mother and you find the life you want. I won’t watch this show again. They don’t reward the true winners, like Tara who never fell below the yellow line and won most of the challenges.

Man, the Biggest Loser Finale was such a dissapointment. From the moment that Helen walked up on the stage I knew by the way her skin was hanging from her arms that she lost the weight in a very, very, very, very, unhealthy way. She was looking healthier prior to that, and I thought the race was rather close between Helen and Tara and whoever won I was gonna be down for. But I am not down for a show that promotes weight loss in that way. There should be stricter ways as far as monitoring the contestants that are sent home. As a matter-of-fact they should keep them all on the ranch until the last day so that they know NO ONE will win in that way again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with most of the fans that Helen looked too thin. Sure she lost the highest percentage, but she definitely looked unhealthy. I was rooting for Mike to win and Tara as my second chocie. They both lost weight in a healthy way and looked great, unlike Helen. They are winners in my book and are excellent role models for healthy weight loss. This show is supposed to be about promoting healthy weight loss, not extreme weight loss. Helen’s victory is sending the wrong message across the country. There should be stricter rules for contestants that go home at any point before the finale, and yes even the finalists. For example, none of them should be allowed to have a trainer. There should also be a new criteria rather than just simply weight loss percentage. A minimum BMI of 20 would be good, and anyone who falls below that for the money should be penalized.

I still get slightly ill when I think of Helen coming on stage in her “hooker dress” and skanky heels. Her nose seemed to take on a life of it’s own, becoming larger and larger with her weight loss. Her flappy sagging arms told the story. She purposely dehydrated herself, gained no muscle mass, ensuring her win over Tara and Mike. Both Tara and Mike looked lean, muscular and fit. Helen simply looked nasty.

People need to stop hating on Helen. It was obvious throughout the show that Shanon was not as motivated to lose the weight as her mother was, and that she didn’t want to be there as much as her mother did. She wasn’t fully committed- even though she lost 92 pounds (which is great and I definitely commend her) by the finale she could have lost a lot more if she fully committed. People also don’t realize that by staying on the ranch longer contestants had an opportunity to lose the most weight possible. Part of the reason ppl become obese in the first place is b/c they don’t put themselves first. By “playing games” on the ranch, contestants like Ron, Helen and whoever else finally put their needs first and were able to reach their weight goals. All the contestants should be commended and not criticized for their hard work! And even if Helen was a little bit too skinny, she just wanted to follow through w/ a goal for once! I say good job to Helen!

I finally saw this whole season on repeat on the Fine Living Network, and I am so disappointed by this outcome. Helen was horrible for throwing her daughter under the bus. She also threw the half-marathon so that Tara didn’t win, even though Tara won.

I was really hoping for Tara or Mike. Tara, to me, is the true winner. That doesn’t get her $250,000, though.

If you look at the BMI of each finalist, Mike and Tara were both within the healthy weight range. Helen had a BMI of under 18, which is underweight and unhealthy. She seemed like she was on drugs or drunk during the finale as well, which may just be the effects of starvation.
