Oh, wait, I’m sorry — I meant he lost the words to "Billie Jean." While performing for his hometown crowd in Milwaukee. And he still kept on singing. Thanks to Vote For The Worst, we’ve got yet another reason to bellow "GOOOOOOOOOOKEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYY!" to the heavens, asking how he ever made it to a top three berth on American Idol. "Enjoy."
I don’t blame you if you weren’t able to make to the end when Gokey gave up and launched into a far less taxing gospel riff in which he had his backup singers sing various combinations of "Yeah!" back at him, but I do have a few questions, P-Dubs: (1) Do you think the Idol producers actually have the cojones to broadcast footage of Gokey forgetting the words on this week’s performance show? (2) If they do, do you think it would adversely affect his voting numbers, or will it instead just hyptonize Gokey’s minions fan base even further into doing his speed-dialing bidding? (3) Why is Gokey attempting to sing about a woman claiming he fathered her kid in the first place? And (4) Do you think this is more or less entertainingly awkward than the clip of a woman in a mini-skirt and a bikini top bum rushing Adam Lambert during his hometown visit in San Diego? I agree… Danny is a complete XXXX. He has not performed that many songs on Idol and he cannot remember the words?

Oh my lordy why is Danny legally able to perform anywhere, there should be laws to stop it, just the fact that hes still in it and not Allison is a crime, Ill be happy if either Kris or Adam wins but as long as its not danny american idol will still have credibility.
I’m just more amused by the fact that my grandmother (who has never seen an episode of Idol in her life) took one look at a picture of Gokey on the front of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and declared, “Boy, he looks like a jerk. Why does Milwaukee even care? He’s such a horrible representation of our city.” I about died with glee…

Oh Please! Give me a break. Danny gives the crowd a full-on show, with a band and everything, performing about 8 songs for the more than 26,000 people who came to see him. And, you can’t give him a break for not having had time to know all the words. (and if you’d paid attention, he’s admitted that he’s learning a lot of music for the first time because he was raised not listening to pop / rock music.) I applaud him for giving the 26,000 fans a real show! Adam, on the other hand, did two songs from his Idol performances to tracks in a much smaller setting. Big whup!
Thank you for that Danny Jokey Karaoke video. He just keeps on giving, doesn’t he? Is it a VFTW curse??? Ha ha. But who forgets the lyrics to Billie Jean??? And most importantly, why did he sing a song he didn’t remember to lyrics too?? And third, true professionals just keeps on going, keeps on singing.

Why didn’t the back-up singer audition for AI?! She blows that loser out of the water. This video just goes to show, for the millionth time, why Hokey Krapeoke Gokey sucks as a singer and a person. This is the second time within a week that this tool has had the cojones to laugh at his own piss-poor performances without a thought for the other contestants who were voted off when they consistently sounded better than he did. Classless, obnoxious and his own biggest fan — his mother must be SOOOOO proud.

Also, I didn’t see anyone twisting his arm and forcing him to sing a song he didn’t know. Face it–he screwed up.

I don’t get the Gokey hate. I really don’t get it. But I also don’t understand the blind devotion to Lambert either. They’re both good singers. That’s OK, you now, to admit that they both have talent. Ripping on one doesn’t make the other one sound any better.
Ok what is up with you at Entertainment Weekly? Danny did a great mini-concert, with about 9 songs and you focus on the only song at the end of his set that he goofed up on? This was at 6 o’clock in the evening, after having a day which started at 5 in the morning. The rest of his songs sounded great-watch the replays on Fox6Now.com. He said all day that his throat was totally sore, and he was going on 2 hours sleep. The fact that he was even willing to do a 45 minute concert was amazing. I like Adam, i really do, and he should win. He does have the best voice, and he is also the only 1 of the 3 who is basically a professional now, and has had voice training. But what is up with all the Danny bashing? You are an entertainment magazine. Why alienate the people who choose to vote for Danny? The vitriol of all of the E.W. writers is getting really obnoxious.
