Fret not, Kris Allen fans and Adam Lambert obsessives! We’ll be discussing the performances of this season’s only acceptable remaining final-two combo in Monday’s episode of Idolatry. But for now, the two topics of screaming importance to the Idol world: Allison Iraheta’s unfortunate elimination after a world-class "Cry Baby"/"Slow Ride" combo, and Danny Gokey’s implausible success after he shoved "Dream On"’s fist down the garbage disposal. In this two-part episode/therapy session, my cohost Kristen Baldwin and I vent our rage over the judges’ toolishness, try to make sense of Danny’s popularity, and finally (in part 2, which streams right after part 1) come to the realization that the "Save the Rocker" campaign was, in fact, a rip-roaring success. You gave me hope Allison, hope for change on Idol. Unfortunately the judges and a few million drones had their brains sucked out into the void by Danny’s scream and are now zombies to the Idol overlords. Could we see Allison punching Danny just one more time, cause it brings a smile to my face. Allison I will be waiting for your album release and I know it will be good. Danny, see you in Branson Missouri! They love your kinda of squealing.

These Idolatry episodes were brilliant – you guys are amazing. Thank you for giving Allison the proper send-off that the AI producers/judges/hacks will never be able to give. Can’t wait to watch your interviews with the rocker after she stops by the Idolatry studios.
Epic! Gokey fans just do not get it. It might have started off with the pimping of the dead wife, but his ginormous ego has totally overshadowed even that. It wasn’t even that last note on dream On as much as it was him thinking he could even come close to doing that. He blamed it on the band on performance night- that he couldn’t hear himself- but what about all the takes he did in rehearsals? He should have stuck to trying to be himself musically, but unlike Kris, who is great in his own understated way, he had to try to out -Adam Adam and failed- epically. Goodbye Allison- can’t wait to see those duets with Adam on the tour ( that is, if Adam wins- no way am I going if Gokey is the headliner).

The last time I shed tears over American Idol was when Kelly Clarkson won and cried her way through her victory song. Wednesday night, I cried watching Allison sing her “victory” song and I cried again watching that Idolatry tribute to her. What an amazing singer. America got it wrong and I too will enjoy watching her come back and rock the stage while Gokey watches from the audience.
Love the Idolotry videos but c’mon guys..there is a third contestant still in the running and for good reason. Couldn’t Slezak and Kristen at least given Kris more than 5 seconds mention in either of the two videos?!! Basically you are as guilty as the evil Idol clan in unfair coverage, the only difference is that Allison pimpage is a waste of time at this point since she’s gone. You clearly need to show Kris some love here as he’s been treated like the red headed step child.
The AA duet sounds better every time I listen to it. It’s pure joy. Let’s hope they prepare something for the finale!

Oh god, Allison is even more awesome then I remembered and that’s saying something. I wanted so badly for the Allison/Adam finale. And even though I’m a diehard Adam fan, I wouldn’t have minded one bit if she won. She would have deserved it (unlike SOME hacks)
At least she can take home with her some great memories, some great friends, awesome success, and the amazing hair she got from Adam’s stylist. (And hopefully she’ll go back for follow-up visits to bond with her big sister–I mean brother, Adam.)….Am I the only one who could see them getting pedicures and their hair highlighted?

OMG! Did I just wake up from a coma and totally miss semi-finals week? I could have sworn by watching these two Idolatry videos that Kris had been voted off as there was barely a mention of his name. C’mon guys..if you hate Gokey as much as I do (and it’s clear you do) than you needed to do whatever you could to encourage fans to vote for Kris. Kris beating the Gokester to challenge Adam in the finale would be the ultimate revenge for Allison. Not to mention, he’s made it to the top 3 and deservedly so. You needed to give him his due!
Oh gosh, I thought I had recovered, but you guys broke my heart all over again. How did Idol not love this girl? I still don’t get it. How did one of the most exciting performers in the history of the show get saddled with the “boring” label? And Danny is admired for being a risk-taker? The universe is inside out.

I just hope that Allison will be given better material than Kelly Clarkson or Pink. Those two have great voices and personalities but their songs are terrible. Allison was so awesome singing Cry Baby, Someone to Watch Over Me, I Can’t Make You Love Me and Don’t Speak… So hopefully when she comes out with an album it’ll be better than bubble gum pop.

I loved this Idolatry!!! Im gonna miss Allison also..but good things are in store for her..let Danny have his moment now b/c it will be over after this..Allison has years…btw Slezak I thought you were going to punch the wall and give a shout out to Anoop!!
Classic “Idolatry” guys and definitely worth the wait! I seriously laughed out loud during the whole first half. And by the time you got to the run about preschool and “Super Nanny,” I was in tears. Kristen, you nailed that, “B*tch would keep him in line,” line. And you did a fitting tribute to Allison. I’m still heartbroken and frustrated that she left on such a stellar performance night while Gokey coasted through on his Epic Fail night. There is no justice. I am pulling for Kris as #2, but it would be incredible to see Adam wipe the floor with Danny in the finale. Oh, also the line, “This was ‘Mortal Kombat,’ the duet” – so true. My heart is breaking that this is almost over.
Bring on an Adam/Gokey finale!! Fine, Simon, get your way. It will be the MOST boring, uneventful outcome ever (Adam 80% vs. Danny Gokey’s 20%). I HATE DANNY GOKEY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!! Slezak and Baldwin are awesome! You guys should be on television all the time!!! Your comments about Allison made me feel so much better that she’s not in the finals, because she is just 17, and she has her whole life ahead of her, and she will be a star. And I feel pretty confident that there is no way that ANY of Allsion’s fans will be dialing for Karaoke Gokey next Tuesday, or god forbid the Tuesday after that. And I dare any of you Allison fans who are dialing for Karaoke Gokey to state your reasons. Adam Lamber for the WIN!!!
That duet moment of Danny hogging the stage, not even pretending to engage his partner in the show was priceless. Kris is much too classy and grounded to make an issue of it. Kristen’s comment that Danny lacks self-awareness is so right on. Remember the schoolyard pests who were so annoying, full of themselves, and incapable of being embarrassed? Danny brings back unpleasant memories.
Aww, Slezak, you disappointed Anoop’s fans. Why make a promise if you were not going to keep it. You said that you will give shout out to Anoop and punch the wall if Allison gets voted out.
Great idolatory as usual otherwise. But I lost a little enthusiasm, as you did not keep your word.
You guys said everything I was thinking this week! I think Allison and Adam share a lot of the same fans, and Adam fans were scared into voting only for him after his bottom 3 showing. But I hope to see great things from her. She is amazing.
